Summary: This game is fun and can be very addictive. It can also be beaten fairly fast, but it's certainly worth it's low price. Engines can become annoying, so turn down sound effects, but it has a really good soundtrack. I recommend getting it if you like racing games with customization.
Summary: Our 5 yr old twins bought this game on clearance at Toys R Us last winter when we first got the PS2. The fact that it was on clearance should have been a clue about its popularity/quality, but being new to the gaming environment, we let them buy it. The kids love changing the cars and choosing to go in the water or on other different tracks. However, controlling the vehicles is almost impossible, esp. for novice gamers.
Summary: Let me just start the review with a bit of description on the game. You go around trying to win races to get money things and buy your car new things to put on it such as different colors and motors and that sort. As easy as this sounds, the game is quite challenging because the control of the car totally stinks and you can't seem to control the car. You can get bored of this game easily. Sorry if you love this game but I just couldn't get into it.
Summary: is because it's pretty much an ARCADE version of Gran Turismo. Yup, almost exactly like it - with a few exceptions. 1) As stated, it's more of an arcadish race game. 2) As you earn money, you can purchase upgrades such as (in ADDITION to upgrades found in the GT series) front / rear spoilers, headlights, taxi sign, snow-skis, wings, etc...
Summary: Im not usually into racing games. Same thing everytime, go around and around and around the track. But this game is really fun. Graphics are of course beautiful and the game play is super cool. You earn money for your position in a race, with that money you can upgrade your car. Buy larger engine, transmission, power steering, suspension, disc brakes, different tire types, CPUs, racing spoilers, wings, skis, propellers, floating devices, you name it it can be bought.
