Game Freaks 365

  • Excerpt: Some games are hard to classify. Future Tactics: The Uprising is one of them. It isn’t real-time strategy because it’s turn-based, but it can’t really be classified as a turn-based RPG because there are strategy elements involved in the game rather than just two groups, one on each side of the screen, going at it in traditional turn-based RPG fashion.

Future Tactics: The Uprising

Playstation Illustrated
18 January 2005
  • Excerpt: Sometimes you can hit all the little details and miss the big picture. Future Tactics: The Uprising is a prime example of doing just that. Combining some of the best elements of squad-based shooters, intense action and RPG-style character advancement, the game seems like it hit all the marks. Once you get below the surface, some of the basics like gameplay and fun seem to be forgotten.

Future Tactics: The Uprising – Review

GameCritics.com
22 November 2004
  • Excerpt: Ah, Future Tactics … currently a red-headed stepchild of the videogame review world. Saddled with poor cover art and positioned as a budget release, nearly every write-up I've read takes delight in putting it down, many of them aggressively. Not being independently wealthy, I held off on a purchase myself until I saw a demo running. I bought it the same day.

  • Excerpt: Bright and cartoony, you might wonder at first glance if Future Tactics: The Uprising might swim a tad bit on the shallow end of the pool. Well, you might be right. If you haven't had a chance to check out this semi-RPG with lots of bang and little else, click here to let Eric fill you in.

Future Tactics: The Uprising Review

GameSpot

  • Summary: It's an intriguing experiment that ultimately suffers from shallow, simplistic gameplay and an uninvolving story mode rife with bland characters.

Future Tactics - The Uprising

SplashGames
27 December 2004
  • Conclusion: Wie Worms?
  • Pros: Zerstörbare Landschaft, Im Grunde geniales Spielprinzip a la Worms
