Excerpt: Please note that my review and rating does not take into account the multiplayer aspect of this game. Even though I don't follow this motorsport anymore, there are times when I like to immerse myself in a Formula One game.
Excerpt: Well, I'm sorry, but I didn't think F1 2001 was particularly great. There, I've said it, and I feel liberated! I'm a big fan of driving games, and have been since Pole Position and Outrun, so when F1 2001 came out, I felt I had to rush out and buy, particularly with the added lure of a Season 2000...
Summary: I love F1, I watch it on Tv all the time whenever I can. F1 games have always been not good enough. The pc game Grand Prix 2 (by Microprose) is probably the best f1 game around. I thought that the ps2 would be better, but it just gets boring.
Summary: I love formula one and when I saw this, I snatched it up and ran home. The game itself is quite incredible with the graphics oozing quality but then came the controls. Just awful. Like me, you will curse at the handling so much that you will end up buying the steering wheel/pedal kit.
Summary: It's surprisingly realistic. It's very fast. And it can be tricky at first. I happen to like the accuracy of the steering - it's very responsive to the slightest input, much more than most driving games. It takes a few laps to get used to, but it I'm fine with it.

There has been a vast array of formula one games already on the PS2, this game being tipped to be the best of the crop (Didn’t have much to go up against anyway) Many who review game on this site just seem to...
Summary: Hey F1 fans, There are some issues I have with Formula One 2001 and I would like to point out some serious problems I had with the game, problems that most of the reviews I've seen so far haven't mentioned at all. It can't just be my copy of the game!!
Summary: No bad so far, but whats with the handling. Its so pully and jerky as you turn. One tap on the contoller has the head of your driving swaying to the left of right and if you continue to tap at it to get a good line, poor ol Montoya looks like he's having a wobbly fit!
Summary: Having already purchased F1 2000 by EA Sports and been very dissappointed with this title, I was expecting great things from Sony F1 2001, but have again have been let down, the game itself has plenty to offer i.e.
