Flying Strong in the Not-so-friendly Skies

RPGamer
1 March 2010
  • Excerpt: Four years of waiting, several delays, and quite a few changes once hindered Final Fantasy XII from reaching North America, but now the game has been flung to the public to be picked apart and devoured. It has a difficult heritage to uphold, as it will be subjected to far more scrutiny than a non- Final Fantasy title. However, Final Fantasy XII seems to be the most carefully constructed title in the series to date, and it may be strong enough to withstand the pressure.

Final Fantasy XII Review

PlayStation Universe
8 April 2009
  • Summary: A masterpiece of the RPG genre. It's drawbacks are far overshadowed by it's volume of quality gameplay, story and value for money. Start saving up your Gil and spend it on adding this game to your collection.
  • Pros: Best story line since FF8., Fantastic graphics, voice acting and atmosphere., 100+ hours entertainment is a bargain by any standard.
  • Cons: Will consume weeks of your life., Arduous and copious amounts of walking., Espers are a real disappointment.

Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings

GamePro.com

  • Excerpt: The idea of a Final Fantasy title that strays from its traditional RPG roots will no doubt conjure up flashbacks to less than stellar experiments like Dirge of Cerberus and Heroes of Mana.
  • Pros: Great story, RTS-lite elements work well, cut scene and background graphics are excellent.

Final Fantasy XII

Strategy Informer
15 August 2007
  • Conclusion: Of course, there will be fans who still don’t like it even after actually giving it a chance, but they’re missing out on an amazing experience. Final Fantasy XII is refreshing, lengthy and complex – more importantly, though, it’s a huge amount of fun. It’s a fascinating take on the role-playing game, and a highlight in a series that has proven a highlight for the entire genre.
