Excerpt: Let me save you some time. If you hate Final Fantasy VII, think Japanese developers suck except for those Gran Turismo guys, and you secretly hope to be the next fatal1ty, then move along. There's probably a new first-person shooter (FPS) on its way to XBox 360 to sate your gaming needs.
Summary: Parents need to know that this action game features lots of gunplay, sci-fi weaponry, and some sword fighting. Players blast humans, monsters, and robots, although there's no blood. Some cut scenes have intense (but gore-less) violence, like point-blank shootings or an implied beheading. A few scenes include smoking, some talk of drinking, and a lot of strong -- but scantily clad -- heroines.
Excerpt: I'm sure people ask themselves why reviewers so often give them a history lesson in the opening paragraphs of an article instead of jumping right into the "buy-it-or-chuck-it" spiel, but it's to provide context - in this case, to understand
Conclusion: Quite frankly, this game is not for everyone. Final Fantasy VII addicts are for who Dirge of Cerberus was intended, and those are the people who are going to be purchasing this title. For fans of third person shooters or action RPGs, there are many more interesting and more exciting games on the market that offer much more than Dirge of Cerberus does.
Conclusion: Overall Dirge of Cerberus could have been an alternative to Devil May Cry but is let down by poor level design, a lack of moves and just an overall dull feeling. The weapon and aiming systems are really good though, and it doesn’t look half bad either. Only for the hardcore Final Fantasy fans I would say, as it fills in the FF7 saga.
