Excerpt: GRAPHICS: 96 The game starts with an intro movie featuring Henry, Ronaldinho, and Del Piero in an empty stadium doing various moves while helicopters with spotlights illuminating their every move. Very well-produced introduction, with lots of flash.
Excerpt: And the battle still rages. For a long time, Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer has been trying to prove to the world that it is – without doubt – a more realistic representation of the beautiful game than its rivals. Of those rivals, EA Sports’ FIFA series and Sony’s This Is Football (World Tour Soccer in the US) are the main opposition, with anything else seeming to fade into obscurity.
Excerpt: EA usually surpasses itself on visual quality every year and FIFA 2004 is no different from its predecessors. The quality of the field, stadium, and players is great, especially when the camera gets up close. It has less purpose than Slim-Fast in Elton John's fridge, giving the PS2 footie fan nothing except old and new gameplay flaws and problems (and let's face it, if a game has an "automatic dive" button mapped to the controller, it can't really be looking...
Pros: Real player names., You, play it online.
Cons: Unresponsive gameplay., Stupid AI., Nice stadiums but generally ugly graphics., The online game is poor., It's up against FIFA and PES, need I say more?
