Summary: OK, first of DO NOT BUY THIS GAME if you have a centrino notebook or any of the new notebook procesors. EA totaly droped the ball since the game reads your PC specs wrong (and when u fix this, it reads them right but fails to run properly) and plays at super speed. It doesn't crash or anything, it just runs at an unplayable speed and EA does not reply to emails for support and they might fix next patch.
Summary: I have played both and Pro Evo 4 is better by a long way. However I think that the standard of Pro Evo 4 is not as good as expected. I own Fifa 2000 on pc and I think it is good. If only EA could keep it up because i enjoy some of their other games such as SSX 3.
Summary: This game has got to be one of the most aggravating, unrealistic football games i have ever played. Fifa has been on a downhill slope for a few years now and this game proves it is getting near the bottom. If you are a gamer who can get angry with unrealistic games this is certainly not the one for you, the gameplay is so far from real life its a suprise they have sold as many as they have.
Summary: Fifa 2005 is a long way behind Pro Evolution Soccer 4 in terms of gameplay and realism. Sure, its getting better and compared to Fifa 2004's poor excuse for a football game its magnificent. The new features are great, especially the first touch, skill moves, throw ins, Chipped Shots and the ability to send a player on a run with L1. All of these are great features (especially the last one)but the flaws of last years game still remain unfixed.
Summary: Oh my goodness. This year, rather than fork out on a rather tired Pro Evolution Series that has insisted on making itself more arcadey and easier to beat the keepers (why I wish I still had ISS PRO EVOLUTION 2 - The Best in the series), I thought I'd break the trend and fork out 33 pounds on the 'rival to pro evo 4' Fifa 2005. Oh dear, Pro Evolution Soccer may not be that good anymore, but at least its playable. This game is sadly atrocious!
Better Than 2004 but no where close to Pro Evo 4 or 3

Summary: Different year, same war, PES v FIFA. Last year Bought 2004 played once and it sat on my shelf gethering dust. PES3 I played until the day PES4 was relaesed. I decided to get FIFA 2005 because I heard good things about it. Not that impressive just looks like a glossy magazine cover with all the contents missing. Well at least the soundtrack is good. If you are going to buy one football game this year make sure it's PES4, you won't regret it.
Summary: Iam a pro evolution player myself but i saw that fifa 2005 was released before it so i thought why not rent it and give it a chance. What a waste of £3.75 the game is slow and really hard to get to grips with the graphics are the best thing on the game really realistic.
Summary: Don't buy this game. It's decent and it's for the kids but not for true enthusiasts of the game of footall. I suggest not to waste your money and save up for pro evolution soccer 4 coming out in october. The cons are to many to mention. Fifa developers have a long way to go to capture what konami have done with the pro evo series.
