Summary: I have this game and if you've played any version of FIFA before, you've played this and know exactly what to expect. The replays are impressive but that is only 1% of the time you are playing. When you are playing from normal views the characters are much smaller (maybe 2 cm tall) and you can't even tell them apart from each other. That's at maximum zoom! As for the FIFA genre itself, my main complaint is the way you run.
Summary: Bieng a huge fan of football(soccer to all u Americans) i couldnt wait to play this. The Fifa series has always taken the more arcadey approach at recreating the beautiful game and this game is no diffrence, it might have the best grafix ever seen in a soccer game but the gameplay is completely shallow, the thing that i always hated about fifa is the proven way of scoring (run down the touchline, cross the ball into the box and double tap the shoot button, a goal is...
Summary: When a first generation sports game comes along that shows us exactly what a system is capable of, presenting gorgeous gameplay along with astounding graphics, we can't help but quietly awe at the television screen as we play the game over and over with nary a complaint in our minds. We hold it high, establishing new unimagined standards that future sports games must at least match, as it becomes the trophy game to show off your console with.
Summary: I've been waiting a long time for the "perfect" soccer game but alas, my wait is not over. I've been purchasing the FIFA Soccer games since 1994, when the game started becoming popular. Since, then, I have purchased the FIFA 96, 97, 98, 99 and now 2001 series. I actually bought my ps2 really just for the FIFA soccer game. I awaited the arrival of this game at my doorstep with such anxiety.
Summary: This game turned out much better than i thought it would. It's not as slow as i thought it might be, and can be downright fun at times. Probably the best part is slide kicking the goalie when he's down and watching it again and again on replay. The announcers are very annoying, especially if you have surround sound and you're in another part of the room. The referees are a little too strict for my liking, but all in all, not a bad game. Graphics are good.
Summary: FIFA, a name we're all familiar with. The father of soccer games, the standard by which all other soccer games are judged by. What went wrong ? New console ; same game. FIFa's back with better graphics but nothing else to offer. Okay the control is a little better and the player recognision is amazing but if you are looking for just one new feature, you'll be looking for a long time. Whether you want to buy this game depends on whether you go for graphics or gameplay.
Summary: At first, I was really psyched when I heard this was going to be one of the first games released. I read a few reviews on the game which led me to rent the it first. I AM SO GLAD I DID! I was not at all impressed with the game. I have previuos versions of it and proved to be the same game with just a bit better graphics. The first day I had the game I played on proffesional mode and won the World Cup with the USA team, now thats not very realistic.
Excerpt: yes they released another one to go with 98 99 00 and 02 is there any difference between any of them? I have to agree with one previous writter as FIFA fail to bring enough variety into their game. From release to release they keep with the same format almost exactly, just adding slight changes, like players with an extra finger. FIFA please bring in some major improvements, im not saying the game is all bad and certainly it wasnt before such games came around as ISS.
Pros: Commentry and player database
Cons: price, gameplay, year to year it ` s to similar, lacking variety
Excerpt: Fifa 2001 is the latest in a long line of football games, this time for the Playstation 2. There are over 50 international teams to choose from and 16 domestic leagues which are fully playable. The graphics are superb, the gameplay relatively easy to master and there are many improved features in this version of the game.
Excerpt: Fifa 2001 is like no other Fifa game. The graphics bring out the true potential and power of the PlayStation 2. This is why I bought this game-the graphics. I normally go for gameplay, but when I played this game in Electronics Boutique, I was convinced that this was the best game on the PS2. There are many different modes in this game, including 16 leagues, season mode and training mode. In season mode, you can even play for over a season and get relegated/promoted!
Pros: Great graphics, players look like the real people, lots of features, the harder you press the button, the harder you hit the ball
