Summary: This was once one of the best game ever to come out of the developer EA sports, and althought there were previous versions of FIFA, the 2009 edition is seen as the first time that the game started to get good. This game showed great graphics, and more detail in the game in general. You can move the players around the field with a touch of a button, and sometimes you can find it hard to score a goal, especially when you are playing against the computer .
Excerpt: "...with one previous writter as FIFA fail to bring enough variety into their game. From release to release they keep with the same format almost exactly, just adding slight changes, like players with an extra finger. FIFA please bring in some major improvements, im not saying the game is all bad and certainly it wasnt before such games came around as ISS. As back then it was probably the most popular footie game, but now with the intro of such games ...
Pros: Commentry and player database
Cons: price, gameplay, year to year it ` s to similar, lacking variety
FIFA 2001 Major League Soccer (PS2): an ass kicking game
9 November 2001
Summary: Soccer (Football in the U.K.) doesn't have too much popularity in North America, but worldwide its ungodly popular, with hundreds of countries hungrily watching the World Cup every year. You'd have to be living under a rock not to hear about the countless riots started at European soccer games, with crazed fans going absolutely berserk. Simply put, people love this sport, and keep their eyes peeled fanatically to every little play.
Pros: best footie game around, cheap, hours of fun
Summary: I've found some things with the game I don't like, but at the same time have a hard time not playing it at the end of the day. Its addictive! The custom tournament option is exciting and lets you play a quick championship without getting into a 40 game season. I'd like to be able to construct any tournament that I want, picking the teams for each group instead of just randomizing with a set of teams.
Excerpt: "Fifa 2001 is the latest in a long line of football games, this time for the Playstation 2. There are over 50 international teams to choose from and 16 domestic leagues which are fully playable. The graphics are superb, the gameplay relatively easy to master and there are many improved features in this version of the game. I have always preferred the Fifa games to the ISS ones, the argument goes that the ISS games are more playable but Fifa has ...
Excerpt: "Fifa 2001 is like no other Fifa game. The graphics bring out the true potential and power of the PlayStation 2. This is why I bought this game-the graphics. I normally go for gameplay, but when I played this game in Electronics Boutique, I was convinced that this was the best game on the PS2. There are many different modes in this game, including 16 leagues, season mode and training mode. In season mode, you can even play for over a season and ...
Pros: Great graphics, players look like the real people, lots of features, the harder you press the button, the harder you hit the ball
Excerpt: "Fifa 2001 is the latest in a long line of football games bearing the now legendary FIFA moniker. The graphics bring out the true potential and power of the PlayStation 2. This is the first thing that attracted me to the game, it's graphics. I normally go for gameplay, but with FIFA and it's history, that is a given. Suffice to say that the game is visually stunning and the most realistic and detailed of all of the games in the Fifa stable. There ...
Pros: Great gameplay and graphics
Cons: Do they expect us to shell out for a new version every year?

Excerpt: "...them or loathe them the fifa games have become part of computer game history, really..with many of the great examples being balanced out by some really quite attrocious efforts down the years (who shall remain nameless..mr fifa 97 ) ahem! anyway..thankfully fifa 2001 on the playstation was a pretty good game, and a lot of the good points have been carried forward to this version..a lot of which have been enchanced by some marvellous grahical detail ...
Pros: excellent visuals, half decent commentary from the top pundits and a wide variety of cup/league options as well as a plethora of teams from all over the world . . with real recognisable players to boot (excuse the pun)
Cons: no real improvement over previous titles (on various formats), somewhat repetitive gameplay at times
