Playstation Illustrated
10 February 2009
  • Excerpt: For some of us, Fatal Fury Battle Archives Vol. 2 will bring back memories of the classic red and white striped Neo Geo arcade cabinets. For others, it will just bring back memories of a time when we had arcades. Ah, but I digress. This volume of the series brings 3 Fatal Fury classic arcade games to the PS2: Real Bout Fatal Fury , Real Bout Fatal Fury Special , and Real Bout Fatal Fury 2: The Newcomers .

  • Excerpt: Compilations are a great way to familiarize yourself with a number of classics that you may have missed out on earlier on. Fatal Fury Battle Archives Vol 2

Digital Chumps
5 May 2008
  • Conclusion: SNK is behind some of the best fighting games of all times. The Fatal Fury series was a long running series that produced many of fighting's greatest characters and stories. It's the 15th anniversary since the original Fatal Fury was released, and it's really cool of SNK to put together this compilation for a whole new generation to enjoy. At a budget price of just $15, this is another must have for fighting fans.

Fatal Fury: Battle Archives Vol. 2 review (PS2)

HonestGamers
25 April 2008
  • Excerpt: It seems unusual to see the high-quality backgrounds swapped out from one game to the next, rather than simply finding them supplemented by a few new ones. Just the fact that things work like that, though, is a point in this compilation's favor. The genuine differences between each entry—including a final boss in the first one that is swapped out by the time the second and third arrive—mean that you really are getting three distinct titles instead of one thrice repeated...
