Summary: great idea on sony's part to try interactivity through camera around 2002. too bad they didn't advertise it enough so it didn't catch on & the technology at the time was limited. the camera "sees" motion by seeing colors. change in color = movement. so making sure you are different color then everything behind you, no bright lights where the camera can see, limited clutter/items behind you & enough light to see is crucial.
Summary: I primarily picked up this game (and the sequel) for my kids (daughter mainly) who aren't quite old enough to work with the controllers much, although (my daughter) actually knows what to do with a couple DS games. Anyway, they have tremendous fun seeing themselves, flailing about, and getting the satisfaction of controlling the game. Only gripe is this thing needs lots of light.
Summary: Eyetoy Play is a new type of interactive video game using the Eyetoy camera, Eyetoy is exclusive to Playstation 2. First of all you will notice that Eyetoy play comes with the Sony Eyetoy camera, the device is pretty small and lightweight and is installed and recognised easily by your Playstation 2 but plugging in to one of the USB connections. This is used to see yourself on the screen and the quality of the camera is actually very good.
Pros: Simple fun games, gets you in the game, eyetoy camera is good
Summary: This is a quirky little game which most people will find is really entertaining if they let themselves get into it. The game works solely (you can use a controller to navigate menus if you want) using the camera which tracks your movements and displays an image of you on screen. The update of this image is very fast so there is scarcely noticeable lag between making a movement and seeing yourself make the movement on screen.
Pros: Really cool, inovative, brings a form of the wii to the ps2
Summary: Eye toy Play is a great game on PS2 which required the Eye Toy cam, which goes into your PS2's USB socket. The game consists off lots of mini games. When you first set it up all the players get the photo taken, when it's your go it will also show your photo, and quite a cool little feature is that it takes 3 photos: 1 sad, 1 normal and one happy, so that when you win it will show your happy photo, and so on.
Summary: The Eye Toy play installment was the first interactive entertainment system to be used by the playstation 2 that i used. I found that the whole eye toy concept was fantastic considering this was before the Wii. The games include washing windows and playing ninja, which i found quite good as a work out, as i would use my arms most of the time. There are many different games that almost anyone can play.
Pros: Lots of games, really fun to play, anyone can play
Cons: Not as advanced as the other eyetoy games that have come out
EyeToy Play + Camera (PS2): A great way to spend spare time....

Summary: When I first heard about the Sony Playstation 2 eye toy I had to purchase one. When I got It I thought it was so much fun, there is quite a selection of games you can play and if you get bored playing solo then you can get your friends or family to join in the multi-player mode. After a while thought I did get quite bored of it and unless you don't mind playing the same game over and over you need to purchase more games which can cost quite a bit.
