PSX Extreme

  • Excerpt: The EyeToy is one of those peripherals that Sony has shown off for a long time, touting the capabilities of the PS2 and showing what kind of innovation the company is capable of.

GamesAreFun
5 March 2004
  • Excerpt: contains a selection of 12 mini-games, lets you mess around with snazzy visual effects in the Playroom or leave a message on your PS2 like a visual answering machine. Sure, I know how it sounds when I try to explain how a widow washing game is fun or heading a virtual soccer ball is actually very...

EyeToy: Play

TotalPlayStation.com
3 December 2003
  • Excerpt: I'll admit that I was just about sold on the whole EyeToy as a gimmick rather than a worthwhile peripheral before I ever tried it out. What fun could a low-quality video camera and some minigames provide when I was in search of expansive new frontiers in videogames?

  • Summary: Every so often I get this inane craving to move around from killing people, blowing stuff up and school my friends at sports games. That’s when I need a good wholesome title that will make me feel a little better about myself, something that I can show my family members to prove that video games...

  • Conclusion: Obviously, this bodes particularly well for parties where a dozen or so friends are gathered around a television and you're trying to teach them the rules and controls of Tekken, Mario Kart, Bomberman and other such party games. Whilst drunk. Which is also the best time to play Eye Toy!

  • Conclusion: So in summary, there’s no cerebral challenge here, no surprises just more of the same varied mini-gaming that’ll often get your heart pounding. If you have enjoyed the previous Eye Toy games, you’re not getting a shiny new “Wii” for Xmas and have a handful of like-minded mates it’s a game worth...
  • Pros: Pulling the daftest face and having it for the rest of the game., 101 mini games., Quick and painless
  • Cons: Mopping up the tears from kids who can’t take losing, It’s a shame the Eye Toy camera wasn’t higher resolution

EyeToy: Play Review

Eurogamer
25 June 2003
  • Conclusion: In conclusion, EyeToy is tremendous fun for a quick mess around if you've got a few mates around and fancy a few flailing belly laugh, whether at your and other people's expense. On your own, however, it feels a bit pointless, and you'll soon get bored of waving your limbs around for the sake of it.

EyeToy: Play Astro Zoo

GameCaptain
5 December 2007
