Good Hockey Game

Cheryl Laferriere, Amazon
26 March 2013
  • Summary: This is a really fun hockey game. Great for a hockey fan, it has almost any jersey from any team in the nhl. It's great. PS: The fighting engine is the best I've seen from any hockey game before.

Fun, atleast better than EA's NHL

Bryan "Bryan", Amazon
21 January 2005
  • Summary: ESPN NHL 2k5 is a good game, but not great. I am a little biased, because I enjoy EA sports games more than the ESPN titles...But due to the fact that NHL 2005 from EA is no different than the 2004 version (which i loved by the way), i was forced into buying ESPN..

Better Then NHL 2005!

Bill.B "Bill", Amazon
26 October 2004
  • Summary: This game is by far better then NHL. This game is faster pace and has better camera views. The mini games are fun and the graphics are just merely ok. The gameplay is way better then NHL and twice as fun. The only thing NHL has going for it is good graphics.

So chill, it's freezing

fastbr3ak 008, Amazon
16 October 2004
  • Summary: For years (okay, make it about three or four), Sega has been desperately trying to topple EA's NHL series as imminent rulers of the rink. The NHL series has been great, but as much fun as "NHL 2004" was (awesome fighting engine), I was dissappointed with so much emphasis they put on the defensive...

Good Game

S. Harbaugh "harbash6", Amazon
9 September 2004
  • Summary: 2K5 is a good hockey game at a great price. The gameplay is great once you up the level to pro or all-star. The mini games add some extra fun to the package and the franchise mode has a lot of depth to it. However, there are a couple of short comings that need to be mentioned.

They tried to beat EA's release date & price... and it shows

Ryan Yamada "icono68", Amazon
7 September 2004
  • Summary: While NHL 2K5 is a nice step along the development road for the series, the main goal of the product was to beat EA's NHL 2005 out the door and get it out cheaper. Unforetunately, while some improvements are made the quicker and cheaper route shows through and holds this game back.

Extremely Playable

paul mason "dedarkone", Amazon
7 September 2004
  • Summary: Maybe it is not fair reviewing this before I saw EA's hockey game for this season. When I like something though I feel the urge to review that product ASAP. And I do like this game.

very good, could of been great

stephen Pashley, Amazon
31 March 2005
  • Summary: NHL 2K5 is certainley one of the best ice hockey games although the ea games of NHL 2005 is better. 2K5 has good gameplay and graphics, it can be quite challenging. As well as the actual playing of the game it is also a manager game, you can swap or buy players and you have to be able to afford them...
