Summary: I own both EA Sports College Football 2003 & ESPN NFL Football 2003 (Sega's 2K-series). In fact, I've been purchasing these two titles for the last three years. The reason I'm pointing this out is because I know what both EA and ESPN have to offer, so I can offer a fair assessment.
Summary: I give this game '5 stars' because of the originality, the mind who put this thing together. 'Shogun: Total War' for the 'laptop' and 'desktop' computer, had realism,it made you feel like you were actually on the battle field, with thousands and thousands of soldiers at your command.
Summary: I've played some 'football game' video games, and this thing is 'user friendly'. I noticed in a lot of other video games, you have to press alot of buttons to make the 'football player' spin, tackle, run, speed burst which confuses you after awhile.
Summary: ESPN Football has been well worth the wait, you can actually play 1st person Football, you can play football like you're actually in the NFL in the Middle of Winter, while it's snowing. ESPN Football is a necessary game for any sportsgamer's shelf.
Summary: First of all, congratulate EA Sports for laying claim to the #1 console football game for so many years. Thankfully, however, their reign has ended. This ESPN NFL 2K4 by Sega is a superior gaming experience.
Summary: This game is insanely fun. I never thought I'd find a football game equal to Madden, but Espn Football Quickly shattered that thought. Controls and Graphics: If you have ever played Madden you will be right at home here. The controls are almost identical and are very simple to learn.
Summary: You can make most the tweaks yourself using the many options in the game. Franchise mode. Lots of stuff to unlock. Online play with stat tracking OnLine. Next years game with be much better like it always is.
Summary: I played Madden 2004 over my boy's house. I played Madden 2004 in[local store]. Seems alot like Madden 2003. Then I bought ESPN. ESPN is by far a superior game. But alas, most people - being the sheeps they are - will buy Madden because the TV told them to.
Summary: This game, ESPN Football, is an amazing game. It has amazing graphics, especially the parts of the face. Also, it has a fun place called the Crib where you can play Airhockey and even paper football; it's unbelieveable. You have to get this game.
Summary: I have played madden since 1996. I have always loved madden - that is until 2004 came out. You can check my other review. To sum it up, I returned Madden 2004, and bought ESPN football. Overall I like ESPN a lot better than Madden. (Madden 2003 is still good though).
