The worst Monkey Island game is still a great game...

Summary: My personal favourite is 'Curse of Monkey Island' followed by 'Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge' 'Tales of Monkey Island' and 'The Secret of Monkey Island' - this game comes in fifth place as the conversion to 3d was a step in the wrong direction but was all the rage at the time. There are still some great lines like 'That's the second biggest monkey head I've ever seen!', although the Monkey Kombat was not enjoyable and dragged the game down for me.
Summary: This game is witty and funny from start to finish. It may be alot of pointing and clicking, but its still worth the money. There are a ton of puzzles to figure out in this game, and you may find yourself turning to a strategy guide every so often. The voice-acting, the graphics, and the movies, are really good for a game made in 1997. The only reason you shouldn't buy this game is if you hate puzzles, or don't have a sense of humor.
Excerpt: "...over the past few weeks, Escape from Monkey Island has been really exciting, It has gripped me so much that I really want to know what will happen next (I will not cheat and look up in a guide) and you won't be able to belive some of the major surprises in store! Graphics - 9 : Lucasarts took a huge leap this time round, from 2D to fully 3D. The characters we once knew in previous games are in glorious, if not blocky 3D graphics. The characters ...
Pros: Monkey Island, there's monkey's
Cons: point and click sin't everyones taste, a bit difficult too .
Summary: This game just didn't live up to the other 3 previous games. The graphics were great, but the puzzles were complicated and incredably illogical. I often found myself asking, what is the point? The dialogue was good, but sometimes kind of repetitive. They had somewhat of a good idea for a plot, but it went awry. I'm glad I only rented this game and didn't waste too much money.

Excerpt: "...must as the title suggest Escape from Monkey Island and various other places. On the way you will be drawn into various hilarious antics and meet zany characters.Essential to this game is a sense of humour as it is very funny.A good hint for this game is to examine EVERYTHING as the puzzles you must solve involve combing various objects you may be holding together in order to complete the task. The colours in the game are bright and vivid and it also ...
Summary: The Monkey Island series is indeed quite fun and witty, with a lot to recommend them to fans of adventure/puzzle games. I enjoyed this game immensely as I was playing it, but ultimately was somewhat disappointed in the total experience. My quibble is two-fold. My first objection concerns the puzzles: it's not so much that they're too difficult, it's that they're not always logical.
Summary: The latest in the Monkey Island series and a fresh lick of paint, some wacky new characters, and some extra islands to explore and enjoy. So what do you need to know if you are thinking of buying this game? First, if you don't know anything about it, then its a click and point type adventure game. Yawn. Dont run off yet - even if you aren't a great fan, you should at least check out MI, which is probably one of the strongest in its class.
