Summary: Okay, so the camera angles are rubbish, u get cuaght a lot offside at the start and it can get a bit frustrating. But if u actually play the game thru a few tournaments on hard, it actually becomes really fun as u have to use proper tactics like kicking for position. I'd buy it, Rugby 06 isn't THAT much better.
Summary: Rugby 2004 was aweful but better than 2001, in the same way 2005 is better than 2004 but still not great. The big plus point is that this game can actually be fun to play (2004 was no fun at all) but there is no realism whatsoever. Forward play can work but just seems to be a slower way to score than giving it to the backs. No skill is required to defend as players preform superman style tackles aslong as they're within range.
Summary: This is probably the best rugby game ever made, the graphics are decent and it is not very difficult to use Although it hasn't realy improved much in terms of what to do and what the controls are from rugby 2004 i still rate this the best rugby game made so far.
Summary: My name is John Pa'a and Iam 13 and I go to Rutherford Intermediate school. I think Rugby 2005 is the best because you can Choose the International countries and create a player to represent your team. I really enjoyed reading your reviews and will quote your comments in my speech to persuade kids at my school to play Rugby 2005.
Summary: This rugby game is the best I have seen so far. After the shocking rugby 2004 I was really wondering if EA would ever get on track again. They did. This game is fun too play and the AI is much much better than in Rugby 2004.All aspects of the game seems to be working better. If you play on HARD you will have low scoring game with AI coming at you. Also you will need to play the long game (20 min).Much better than Rugby 2004 where I could kill them in the first half by doing...
Summary: The graphics are much improved from Rugby 2004, and the gameplay is more realistic and less one-sided. Also, you can do such things as handoffs and shoulder charges, which makes it more fun and authentic. But the commentary is the exact same script as last time, just with different people, which makes it very boring. And there are such mistakes as drop goals being only possible from inside the 22. The place-kicking is too challenging as well.
Summary: The progression from 2004 and most certainly from 2003 has been dramatic. The developers knew that they had it completely wrong and have started again with an all new game engine. Taking this into account, the game doesn't disappoint. I had to go to World Championship Rugby for some sense of realism (an insult to rugby in truth) and when I bought this game completely on a whim I was hoping some progression in the EA camp had been made since I last played any of their...
Summary: Rugby 2005 is a huge step up from 04 id give rugby 04 1 or 2 stars but this game is different.First the graphics are great and on a ireland or wales jersey you see "permenent tsb" or "brains".The spear takleling is a great touch and the kicking is good also you get to see the haka which is cool.
