Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 (PS2) - Review

Excerpt: Let me lie out in the open that I am a huge fan of the Gundam series and have been for a long time. The history of Gundam videogames can be summed up as a mixed bag. While some are pretty good, others have the usual flair of being typical confusing licensed anime games that only the hardest of hardcore fans will love.
Excerpt: One of these days, Koei and Omega Force will surprise us all with a solid, innovative, and entertaining action title that crosses boundaries and appeals to all fans of the genre. But you know, we’re not holding our breath.
Conclusion: Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 is a repetitive and bland hack 'n slash experience with a thick anime coat of paint. Koei hasn't changed the formula for the franchise in quite some time, and if you've played one Dynasty Warriors, you've more or less played them all. That's a shame really because this franchise had some true potential. As it stands though, only the diehard faithful to both series will get any enjoyment out of this title.
Summary: Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 combines the devastating power of the Mobile Suit, the rich legacy of the GUNDAM universe and the furious Tactical Action game play of the Dynasty Warriors series. The game will thrust players into incredible battles against legions of enemy Mobile Suits on distant planetary surfaces and in the far reaches of outer space.
