4 November 2005
Pros: Destiny mode is a fine addition to the formula, More items, more power-ups, more challenges
Cons: Xtreme mode and legend mode are merely serviceable distractions, and not altogether engaging, Gameplay is still stuck in the same monotonous rut, As an expansion, it's really only worthwhile to those who already own Dynasty Warriors 5 proper, AI is just as goofy as ever, and it's even more noticeable in the destiny mode

Cons: The overly simplistic fight controls quickly descend into “rinse and repeat” boredom, and combo moves and Musou attacks are never fulfilling enough to promote addiction, Lack of directional control on the game camera and zero environmental interaction casts the game as a rather flat, singular-paced and one-dimensional experience
