4 November 2005
  • Excerpt: As with the previous incarnations of the Dynasty Warriors series, the setting is the middle of the 3rd century in a divided China. The Kingdoms of Wei, Shu and Wu vie to unite China. Following the story/history laid out by Luo Guanzhong in his famous novel, many of the famous scenarios, such as the Yellow Turban rebellion, are once again revisited.

The Armchair Empire

  • Conclusion: Enemy commanders are doubly intelligent, being more adept at blocking vicious combos, then sneaking in with a few swipes of their own before you have time to get your guard up. Better still is the inclusion of duels in Dynasty Warriors 4, as commanders can call each other out in the battlefield and fight face to face without being interrupted by their respective units.

With all the fun of the previous Dynasty games and some cool new additions, Dynasty Warriors 4 makes for an enjoyable, action packed experience! Like the other Dynasty games, Dynasty Warriors 4 takes place during the Romance of the Three Kingdoms era in China.

Game Over Online
9 June 2003
  • Excerpt: It’s been said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and nowhere is this more evident than the gaming industry, where a good idea spawns countless clones from other companies, not to mention numerous sequels. While some actually host innovation, quite a lot of games wind up being uninteresting rehashes of previous concepts.

  • Conclusion: Overall, I hate this game. Not because it’s bad, but because it’s half hearted. You should buy this game if you are having problems sleeping. You should not buy this game if you enjoy quality and fun.

DarkZero
15 February 2004
  • Excerpt: Travel back in time to the realms of ancient China. There you will try and become the greatest warrior of the age, from the fall of the Han dynasty of China; you join one of the three kingdoms in hope to bring peace to the war-stricken country. The graphics haven’t been greatly improved since Dynasty Warriors 3, this doesn’t matter, as they were good enough in the first place.

Dynasty Warriors 4 -

Futuregamez.net
20 September 2003
  • Summary: Once again the Dynasty Warriors series has evolved ever so slightly. If you didn't tire of the previous games then Dynasty Warriors 4 is well worth a look. Likewise if you've never played one of the games it's worth a look - but be warned - it can get repetitive.

13 November 2004
