Good Remix

J. Gallen "J. Michael Gallen", Amazon
19 July 2014
  • Summary: Some videogame developers have a nasty habit of releasing enhanced versions of big-named titles some time following their initial releases, with these “director’s cuts” featuring new content not found in the original; Square-Enix in particular is an offender at times with its Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts franchises.

Cool but don't be fooled

J. Gallen "J. Michael Gallen", Amazon
4 August 2004
  • Summary: This game is very good. But there is one problem with it; IT IS NOT THE FULL GAME! If you want to get the full game DW3 first then this. Better yet, Buy DW4. I say this not a full game because you cannot play as anybody other tha Dong Zhuo,Lubu,Diao Chan,Zhu Rong, Meng Huo, Yuan Shao, and Zhang Jiao, in Musou mode.So it is very hard to train if you do not like them because you can only play with the other officers via Free Mode.

An acquired taste

Monsieur Mouton "M. Montgomery", Amazon
8 November 2003
  • Summary: It'd be hard to imagine improving on such a great game already, but KOEI attempted it. The end result; a much harder and complex gaming experience. I was excited to see Lu Bu and all "the other" forces (excluding Fu Xi and Nu Wa) got their own musou. Overall, it was pretty fun to traverse through the difficult nanman campaign and fight off Dong Zhou when you rebel against him in all the new musou modes. It could of been better.

Something about the game you are previewing

J. Gallen "J. Michael Gallen", Amazon
8 November 2003
  • Summary: This game is one of the best games I've ever played, but then again, I haven't played many games. Why did I rate it 4 stars if it's one of the best games I've played? Because it basicly obligates you to buy Dynasty Warriors 3 if you want to use Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtream Legends full potential. There are two ways you can play this game.

DW3: Xtremely Different

T. Burns, Amazon
4 March 2003
  • Summary: If you have Dynasty Warriors 3, you are in luck. Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends, among many things, gives you access to 7 unique Mosou Modes for Lu Bu, Diao Chan, Dong Zhuo, Meng Huo, Zhu Rong, Yuan Shao, and Zhang Jiao. These new scenarios include situations from Zhang Jiao and the Yellow Turbans travelling to Nanman territory to Lu Bu turning on Dong Zhuo at Chi Bi.

Excellent Game

  • Summary: This game is awesome! Lu Bu is the best character. His Mousou is the best. This is the same as DW3 except cheaper.

Heavy, Baby, Heavy.

  • Summary: I quite disagree with my esteemed collegue when it comes to the rating. I'm tracking down the 5th level weapons, which unlike the 4th, don't look like anyone elses, and have new perks. In addition, playing the very hard mode isn't all bad, as I was THIS close to getting my main man Xiahou Yuan's 5th on tong gate. You probably need to have some sort of competence to play it though. That goes for your wingman, or second player, if ye have one.

Could've been better (really worth 3.5 stars)

"mordrekai", Amazon
26 January 2003
  • Summary: Dynasty Warrior games are mindless addictive hack and slash fun. In Dynasty Warriors 3 I wanted musou modes for Lu Bu, Zhu Rong, and all those other people along with more customization for body guards, so naturally this game, despite a horrendously stupid title, seemed like a good buy. I just wish it was $20, or at least came with a coupon for Dynasty Warriors 4. Fu Xi and Na Wu or whatever their names are still do not have musou modes, which is annoying.

Is it worth the money?

presypclhs, Amazon
17 July 2004
  • Summary: This is not a full sequel to the fantastic Dynasty Warriors 3. It's more of just an add-on. Some revamped stages, different weapons, etc. Pretty much, it allows you to play musou mode as the few characters you couldnt in Dynasty Warriors 3, such as Lu Bu. What's so good about this? Well... that's the problem. This game is only worth the money if you are a truly diehard Dynasty Warriors fan.
