Dragon Ball Z: Budokai

The Gamers Temple
24 July 2005
  • Excerpt: Dragon Ball Z Budokai is in many ways a real treat for fans of the television series.  The game captures the spirit of the series, especially in its Story Mode which follows the events of the show from the Saiyan, Namek, Android, and Cell Games Sagas.  During the course of the Story Mode you'll be treated to long cutscenes interspersed with fighting action that lets you take control of the heroes of the series.

  • Excerpt: Dragonball Z: Budokai – PS2 The commercial for Budokai claims that this is the best DBZ game to date, and while that’s not much of a claim, I guess they have a point. Dragon Ball Z: Budokai

Playstation Illustrated
19 June 2005
  • Excerpt: Dragonball Z is about as close as any company will ever get to having a license to print their own money. History shows that the video game industry hasn't been all that kind to the Dragonball license. But the demand for Dragonball games has been so great that some fans are willing to spend upwards of 200 dollars a pop for games like Dragonball GT on Ebay.

DragonBall Z: Budokai

The Armchair Empire
22 March 2003
  • Conclusion: The music and sound effects don’t hold up much better, unfortunately. The music works just fine for adding atmosphere to the fights and there are a lot of tunes straight from the show to keep fans happy. Sound effects are serviceable at best, but certainly don’t dazzle. Thankfully the voices for the game’s characters are provided by the actual voice actors from the show, and with it comes an above average level of acting for a game and the true saving grace of DBZ:B’s...
