Disney's PK: Out of the Shadows Review

17 January 2003
  • Excerpt: Disney's PK: Out of the Shadows is the latest game from Ubi Soft to feature Disney's chronically cranky character Donald Duck. This cel-shaded third-person shooter is completely substandard in nearly every aspect and therefore is impossible to recommend, even to the young audience that the game is targeted toward. The end product is a game that feels somewhat incomplete and thrown together at the last minute.

Expert Review

22 December 2002
  • Excerpt: Disney and Ubi Soft have teamed up to release Disney's PK: Out of the Shadows, in which Donald Duck takes on the role of a superhero. Sound good so far? Now, imagine, instead of Donald's regular voice, we make him sound like Sideshow Bob? Just for fun? Click here.
  • Pros: ups: Good controls; not too difficult for young gamers; decent graphics.
  • Cons: downs: Obscure license; lacks any real innovation; bland sound; they changed Donald Duck's voice.

Disney's PK: Out of the Shadows

Game Over Online
18 November 2002
  • Excerpt: Bad game? No. Good game? Not so much. Well, Donald’s back, out of the shadows as it were, and he looks nothing like the blathering duck that was recently featured in the unwarrantedly popular Kingdom Hearts. When I first caught word that I’d be reviewing this game, I instinctually said to myself “great, another Donald Duck game”. I am still having nightmares about the dreaded Donald Duck: Goin’ Quackers videogame that I reviewed a few months back.
