Summary: A unique FPS/Adventure game with very some original touches, at times the dark storyline can seem depressing but this is without doubt a quality adventure game with plenty of shooting action thrown in. The game is surprisingly long too for one of its genre and whilst there are many superior games out there this one comes highly recommended for those trawling the bargain bins (now under £1 second hand on Amazon).
Summary: this is an intelligently crafted game. while the graphics may be reminiscent of 3 or so years ago, the futuristic story line is engrossing, which helps considering the game is relatively long. gameplay may appear unnecessarily complex at first with the option of building up various skills of your character together with using various different gadgets etc but after playing for a short while this isnt a problem.
Summary: I hear a lot of people moaning about lack of longevity in games. I for one would take ten hours of quality gameplay over 30 hrs of repitition and tedium. By the time i got to paris ( about 70% of the way through) I was utterly bored. Up until then it had proved a decent game but i found it less gripping than i had expected considering the plot. This game should be played in short bursts (one level a day) or it gets on your nerves a bit.
Summary: Deus Ex is definitely a very playable game that also looks great. It has a fantastic attention to detail and has an immersive and highly interactive environment. But it's by no means perfect. The A.I. is pretty weak and it's not uncommon to see characters either stuck in corridors or running around in circles (quite amusing!) The stealth aspect is wasted, because bad guys have a sixth sense about where you are.
