Summary: I give the graphics a good grade. The story an F. This game needed more dialog. I did like how it was a lot like soulblazer or actraiser, building the city. the music gets repetitive. I dont really understand why this game got good reviews. Its mediocre at best....
World building = fun. Dungeons = crap. Weapon system = UGH!

Summary: Dark Cloud is a Zelda/Actraiser hybrid that seems to try too hard to be perfect on the town buidling part and neglects some things in the dungeon battles. For one, having to throw powder on your weapon to keep it from breaking is stupid. What idiot thought that idea up? Plus the weapon building system is long and complex and not really explained well enough. They should just have better weapons lying in treasure chests as you go along.
Fun if you like doing the same thing over and over.

Summary: This was a fun game at first, but then it became very repeative. There really isn't much of a storyline (I guess I've been spoiled with Final Fantasy/Lunar/Xenogears type games). The only thing that kept me interested was building up the characters weapons. I certainly don't plan on ever playing it again, though. If you want a true RPG, I'd wait for some of the more promising ones coming out in December.
No "Zelda Killer", "Poor Man's Zelda" is more like it.

Summary: Months ago I saw a magazine preview of Dark Cloud that hailed it as the "Zelda Killer". Unfortunately, it does not come close at all. Darks Cloud has a number of high points: 1) Beautiful 3D graphics that far surpass N64's abilities. 2) A decent soundtrack. 3) An interesting weapon evolution system similiar to Vagrant Story. 4) Six playable characters.
Summary: this was the first game i bought for ps2. it made a pretty good first impression on me (for the first five minutes). it does get repetitive. you're constantly drinking water and fighting similar battles over, and over, and.....OVER, again. fighting the bosses can be very frustrating because one method for defeating these monsters isn't enough, and they seem to always fail here and there, and you just get sick of fighting the things.
Summary: Upon playing Dark Cloud, I can safely say, I wasn't happy. After all-- it did have sub-par graphics, decent control, and a neat Geo-mod system....but, it just got *so* repetitive! You go around from dungeon to dungeon smacking the ... outta' whatever moves to get a key or gem or what not. Bah! After that, put the gem in, open the door, run down a dungeon, rinse, repeat, lather, and rinse! End-to-end, this game is pretty much blah.
Summary: I'm a mega fan of Final fantasy, and from the reviews I read i thought this game may be a rival, its not. The idea behind the story is a good one, but its so slow and quickly gets dull. You are basically running around caves which are identical every level (except different shaped) and you are trying to kill the same monsters over and over again.
Summary: Where can i start....this game is quite good with a new addition of the goerama (the make ur own village bit). This is possibly the strongest and probably only good thing about this game. Sure the graphics are good and the plot is okay but it is far too annoying, the dungeons seem to go on forever and as a result put you off the game completely. the music in these dungeons sound great the first time u enter the dark and gloomy places but gets repetitive!
Pros: keine Romanze vorhanden; Steuerung; geniale Idee . . .
