Excerpt: today i will be reviewing conflict vietnam for the playstation 2 firstly let me say if you like games like conflict desert storm 1 or 2 then you will love this game its full of hours of fun. i find it easier to play with a friend in multiplayer mode but you can play single player if you wish. also the graphics are fantastic the weapons are not as updated as the weapons on conflict desert storm but still the story line is fantastic.
Excerpt: Having never played any of the other Conflict games I didn't really know what to expect of Conflict: Vietnam. Was it a first person shooter? Was it a strategic squad based game? Well as it turns out it falls somewhere in between. Conflict: Vietnam follows the story of a squad of young American soldiers who after a helicopter crash are left stranded in the Vietnamese jungles trying desperately to make it home in one piece.
Excerpt: Game Info Genre = Team Action Developer = Pivotal Games Publisher = Sci Games Players = 1-2 players Online = No Age = 16+ --------------------------------------------------------------- GRAPHICS: Not only the locations have been changed from the desert to the jungle but with better graphics too, which looks very good.
Pros: Can be fun on co - op and you can drive jeeps and tanks .
Cons: Poor Team AI, controls are diffaculty to use at times and not much replay value .
Summary: How I so wanted to fill the void of waiting for DS 3 by playing another fantastic edge of your seat, taut conflict game. Sadly this game disappointed. It's not neccesarily SCI's fault it's just the terrain of the jungle that doesn't work for the Conflcit type game. Yes there are the four soldiers, yes the game play is virtually the same, but this game doesn;t allow you to strategically plan and sniff out enemies as it does on the DS series.
Summary: I have completed this game on all levels up to extreme and have'nt found any too difficult yet(after several attempts!)I have enjoyed all of the conflict series and this has been no exception but why the purile bad language? It does nothing for the game play and if anything, detracts from it.Come on SCI lets stop smoking behind the bike shed and get back to producing games that aren't embarassing.
Summary: Like everyone else I eagerly awaited this game. There are many improvements in gameplay though there are some minor aimimg glitches and bits of jungle obscuring your view.If you like dthe previous two games you will like this one,Unless like me you hate SWEARING.....I am not a prude but dont need to hear swearing all through the game .It is not needed there wasnt any in the 2 previous games and they were popular.I personally know a lot of friends who would be put off this...
Summary: I couldn't wait for this game but although good it is a little disappointing. There are so many times when the guy's heads get in the way and you can't see who you're shooting at and sometimes the leaves in the jungle obscure your view completely. The thing that lets it down for me totally though is the bad language, none of the previous Conflict games had this and it spoils it.
Summary: Must agree a lot with the last review by tashcoleman.I was really looking forward to this latest instalment in the Conflict series after the excellent Desert Storm 2.Sadly this game DOESN'T live up to the hype and despite the nice graphics end's up as an average shoot'em up. If you like jungle warfare this might appeal even though there are better options available. The basic set-up is the same as the previous two conflict games i.e.
Summary: I must admit this game has been a massive disappointment despite all the hype. The missions are long, far far too long that sometimes I was left with no alternatve but to leave my console ON over-night after using up the save points. The game looks and feels massive as you start it but degenerates into a tedious chore as you labour through the long, monotonous, rigid missions with little armour and health and enemies popping up like ants.
Summary: Not the best!! I have only played this for a short time and it seems like it does not translate from desert warfare to jungle very well. I enjoyed the first 2 games and as a bit of Vietnam freak I was looking forward to this. But as it is set the jungle with no or little distance to view you just walk along your sights move and you hit fire. Then your sights move again and you hit fire. You rarely see your target and rarely know what is going on.
