Summary: I sometimes find it hard to find a game that I actually enjoy, but this is one game that I will play over and over. I have had it for about a month and I am already on my second time through. The graphics are great and the game play is smooth. I tend to like the hack and slash type of games and this one delivers! There are a few areas that I do not find that enjoyable to play, but it is just my opinion and that is why I only gave it four stars instead of five.
Conclusion: While not a revolutionary game by any means, Champions of Norrath still succeeds at being a casual action-RPG in the spirit of Snowblind's previous products. There's still some flaws to iron out, but anyone who likes some action with their RPG will derive some enjoyment from this game.
Pros: Champions of Norrath was developed by Snowblind Studios, the same crew responsible for the two Bulder's Gate: Dark Alliance games for the PS2. Anyone who's play either of those titles will immediately recognize many of the conventions present in CON -- a build that takes after Diablo and other Action-RPGs of the same era.Ergo, the following paragraph should sound familiar to everyone who's had even remote contact with any of the above-mentioned titles.
Cons: There's a good variety to the environments in the game -- you'll visit lava fields, ice caves, underwater caverns, and vampire nests before your adventure is through. Unfortunately, the scenery has no real effect on game play aside from what monsters show up, meaning that the game never really changes for the entirety of your quest. Fans of action RPGs probably won't care as much, but casual gamers might find the experience gets a little stagnant after a while.
Summary: If you are looking for a two player rpg for the PS2 system, this is one of the better ones. It's a fun, but typical, hack and slash rpg. You run around and kill things, collect weapons, etc. The character choices are interesting and customizable. As a chick, I really appreciated all of the choices for female characters. The only reason I played this was because of it being two-player co-op.
Summary: This game is great. I owned it and you can take my word. I really enjoyed this game and Never stopped playing it. Its also one of the few really good action RPGs on the ps2, which there is a short list of anyway. We all know the ps2 was plagued with Japanese RPG crap, even the Jap action RPGS. This game and its sequel more then make up for this fact. The game uses the snowblind engine just like Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance. It looks fantastic. It probably still looks good.
Summary: Good game, if you like the type. Even though this is like the countless amount of hack and slash RPG games out there this is still good. This game has typical graphics but great music and sound effects. Definately worth checking out, you'll spend quite a few hours playing this.
Summary: Help, I can't stop playing Champions of Norrath. After completing the game and playing with the same character (much stronger & better equipped) on the Courageous setting, I have gone the extreme by creating 10 characters (5 characters to choose from but you can play as man or woman). The characters that are the most fun are the magic users.
Summary: This game is really, really fun while it lasts. The story is fairly weak, but that's a minor inconvenience when you're playing a hack'n'slash game. Plenty of weapons, but most are weaker than whatever you're carrying. The Spells/Abilities that you can use are absolutely amazing. "Summon Skeleton", only available for the Dark Shadowknight, is the sweetest thing ever. Summon a skeleton to fight with you!! Awesome! Which pretty much sums up the entire game, awesome.
Summary: this is one of the best role playing/adventure games ive ever played.and ive played alot trust me .if you dont belive me try it for your self. and if you like this game try the balders gate dark alliance games there just as fun!! youll find easy to kill bettles to angry bunches of wizzerds.THIS GAME ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Summary: First of all, I've read some of the comments on others reviews about how buggy the game is. Well, its not !! I never had any problem with it, the reason is cause I have a V9 PS2, prob a newer model than of what the ppl complaining own. Most ppl don't know this but this game is huge ! Its over the size of a single layer DVD (most PS2 games are under 4.7gb) thus it is one of the few DUAL LAYERERED PS2 games out there.
Summary: the game is almost exactly like dark allince balders gate. expect that there is a story line and the game is more involved and more fun. there is alsomore deatail with the weapons i'd say the game is good though and the idea of multi player and have someallys anyway it's way cooler. if u liked balders gate defiantly get it. if you thought the game was pretty good buy this game it's really fun but if u didn't like the game rent before u buy.
