Summary: When this came in the mail, i was excited to play it. But for some reson it wouldnt load probably after few minutes of playing. Loading screens would freeze and trying to access the merchants wouldnt load. I check the disc to see if there were any scratches or possibly just needed cleaning. There are few good cratches on it, even in the middle of the disc. Why i havent made any sort if complaint is because it started to work properly somehow.
Summary: I loved Champions of Norrath. Last night I finished beating it using the Wood Elf Ranger. Probably my most favorite character ever - I loved the combination of melee ability and ranged arrows and cold/fire arrows. This game is addictive. If you like dungeon crawls with lots of hack-n-slash, collecting treasure and leveling up to get new skills, this game is as good as any I have played. Loved it, beginning to end. I started playing it 2-player with my daughter, too.
Summary: I went ahead and bought this game based on the generally positive reviews it's received here. After playing it however, I'm baffled and a little suspicious - as I am with anything Sony puts it's name on these days. Ok, yeah, granted this game is old but, it does prove that Sony is very successful in it's continued quest to run the EQ franchise into the ground. For EQ fans, let me just state that the lore is completely butchered in this game.
Champions of Norrath:Realms of Everquest .... Love It
12 June 2012
Summary: I had searched my hometown for what seemed like decades trying to find Champions of Norrath:Realms of Everquest all for naught. When it finally occurred to me to look online I was pleasantly surprised to find it at an incredibly reasonable price at Amazon.I had Champions:Return to Arms (the second game of the Champions series) for numerous years,& now I'm rather happy to say I have both games of the series. My son & I have already been playing Realms of Everquest for...
Summary: I love this game. My brother has a copy and I played with him until I graduated high school. Then I got my own copy. It's the best! Especially after a stressful day where you just want to beat something to a pulp and all the local racket ball courts are busy or closed.
Summary: I sometimes find it hard to find a game that I actually enjoy, but this is one game that I will play over and over. I have had it for about a month and I am already on my second time through. The graphics are great and the game play is smooth. I tend to like the hack and slash type of games and this one delivers! There are a few areas that I do not find that enjoyable to play, but it is just my opinion and that is why I only gave it four stars instead of five.
Conclusion: While not a revolutionary game by any means, Champions of Norrath still succeeds at being a casual action-RPG in the spirit of Snowblind's previous products. There's still some flaws to iron out, but anyone who likes some action with their RPG will derive some enjoyment from this game.
Pros: Champions of Norrath was developed by Snowblind Studios, the same crew responsible for the two Bulder's Gate: Dark Alliance games for the PS2. Anyone who's play either of those titles will immediately recognize many of the conventions present in CON -- a build that takes after Diablo and other Action-RPGs of the same era.Ergo, the following paragraph should sound familiar to everyone who's had even remote contact with any of the above-mentioned titles.
Cons: There's a good variety to the environments in the game -- you'll visit lava fields, ice caves, underwater caverns, and vampire nests before your adventure is through. Unfortunately, the scenery has no real effect on game play aside from what monsters show up, meaning that the game never really changes for the entirety of your quest. Fans of action RPGs probably won't care as much, but casual gamers might find the experience gets a little stagnant after a while.
Summary: If you are looking for a two player rpg for the PS2 system, this is one of the better ones. It's a fun, but typical, hack and slash rpg. You run around and kill things, collect weapons, etc. The character choices are interesting and customizable. As a chick, I really appreciated all of the choices for female characters. The only reason I played this was because of it being two-player co-op.
Summary: This game is great. I owned it and you can take my word. I really enjoyed this game and Never stopped playing it. Its also one of the few really good action RPGs on the ps2, which there is a short list of anyway. We all know the ps2 was plagued with Japanese RPG crap, even the Jap action RPGS. This game and its sequel more then make up for this fact. The game uses the snowblind engine just like Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance. It looks fantastic. It probably still looks good.
