When it comes to retro collections, there are two potential audiences: the people who know and love these games and the people who have never heard of them. For the former, the concern is what titles are included and how well have they been emulated. For the latter, the concern is what titles are included and whether or not they’re worth shelling out $80 for. Read more

I love to get a hold of the retro compilations whenever I can. Mostly because I actually was gaming before there was a consideration that they would be re-releasing any of these games. In this case, I got my hands on Read more

With excellent high-level production values, superb emulation, and an easy to use interface, Capcom Classics Collection Volume 2 should please most retro Capcom fans. Having legendary fun traps like Strider, Knights of the Round and SF2 Turbo doesn't hurt either, while some of the remaining shooters like 1941 and Black Tiger are definitely worth checking out. I only wish that this version wasn't behind its PSP counterparts in terms of its multiplayer capabilities. It's... Read more

THE VERDICT: This package is not about cutting-edge graphics, audio or even gameplay but is instead a retrospective of a bygone era. If you have a penchant for the old-school or played these games the first time round, spending lunch-times putting coin after coin in the slot, then you are bound to find some enjoyment - probably lots of it. None of this achievement nonsense or percentage completed - just pure unadulterated gameplay, and lots of it. Read more
