VideoGamer.com

  • Excerpt: What is it? Buzz! Junior: Ace Racers is the follow-up to the child-friendly Jungle Party and Robo Jam, yet again offering a series of games that almost anyone can play. Rather than the mini-game focus of previous games in the series, Ace Racers is predominantly a racing game, with players able to race in cars, boats and planes across a multitude of courses. Up to four players can compete together using the Buzz! controllers for all aspects of the game.

Buzz! Junior: Ace Racers

Square-Go

  • Excerpt: Ace Racers is a Buzz! Junior game where you race others on the road, in the water and in the air.  It requires at least two players to play, although there is a practice mode which gives you the chance to polish up your individual skills.  Setting up the game is child’s play using your Buzz! controllers; even the instruction booklet is written so that a child will understand it, whether reading it for themselves or having it read to them.

Buzz! Junior: Ace Racers review

Gameplanet
31 October 2008
  • Excerpt: Everything, from the length and layout of each track to the simplistic controls and gameplay, is geared toward younger players. While it didn’t hold any long term appeal for adults who tried it, the kids on our test panel certainly seemed to enjoy most of what the game had to offer.
  • Pros: A refreshing new angle for the franchise. Simple, if repetitive, gameplay makes for a minimal learning curve. A selection of game options to explore, and thanks to the custom game mode there’s plenty of flexibility. A good portion of the mini-games are enjoyable, but…
  • Cons: Some of the mini-games are frustratingly difficult for adults, let alone young gamers. Limited selection of characters and vehicles.
