Good and Short

jaymax003, Ebay

  • Summary: I love the Breath of Fire 3&4, so I decided to buy BOF5 to what what it was like. It was ok (had a good story line to it IMO), yet the only thing I didn't like was how it was setup. It was like playing chess or something with movement system. On top of that I beat the game in 16 hours.

A Fun Game, but Disappointing at Times

  • Summary: This game has a few good things and a few bad things going for it, and I'll try to keep this short and discuss the things I consider the most important aspects you should focus on. One of the worse things about this game is the "difficulty".

not as good as it could be

opima05, Ebay
19 December 2006
  • Summary: Breath Of Fire Dragons Quarter has to be the most complex and difficult RPG I have ever played. Basically, the game plays like a standard RPG, with strings of dungeons, interspaced with "towns". You only have three playable characters so you can concentrate your level building quite easily.

Nothing like the previous

  • Summary: This game is very challenging and hard which makes it not very fun to play. I was dissapointed in the game when i first played it. The game is not entirely bad but it just doesnt live up to the expectations of its earlier versions.

Can't use dragon-form?!?!?!

  • Summary: I have played BOF 1-5 and have found that the best in my opinion is BOF3. I liked the way that when Ryu transformed each form looked different. I really liked the golden Kaiser form that made him look like a super saiyin (DBZ).

A challenge...or a trial

A. Griffiths "Adrian", Amazon
12 December 2003
  • Summary: Breath Of Fire Dragons Quarter has to be the most complex and difficult RPG I have ever played. It's the only game in the series I have tried, and I decided to play it as I am a fan of RPG's in general, but I wasn't prepared for such a steep learning curve.

Not the best in the series

Helenreddjedet, Amazon
14 November 2003
  • Summary: This is nothing like the previous games in the series! Basically you have to work your way through underground tunnels to try and reach the surface and once you have the top equipment this could take as little as ten hours.

Rent before buy

Benjamin M. Macomber, Amazon
9 May 2003
  • Summary: I was a bit upset with the way this game turned out when I unfortunately bought the game before trying it out first. The battle system is turn based like a tactics game, and the game in my opinion is quite difficult if you are not used to it at all.
