Bloody Roar 3 by Activision

Game Monkeys
5 March 2013
  • Summary: This is a pretty cool game. The battles are almost fun, the character designs, both while human, and in beast form, are very good, and the attacks and combos are fun to watch. But for the most part this game doesn't really bring anything new to the table. It is definitely the best of the series, but if you haven't liked the past Bloody Roar games, chances are you won't like this one either.
  • Pros: Stunning visuals, very fast-paced battles, impressive combos, and good sound.
  • Cons: It is the hardest fighting game I have ever tried to beat, and there is no four-player mode.

Bloody Roar 3

Playstation Illustrated

  • Excerpt: If you're looking for some 3D anime-styled fighting, you've come to the right place. The characters are very 'anime' and each have their own 'personality'. The female characters seem to have pretty good 'breast dynamics' (physics-responsive breasts... let's face it - when a woman fighter stops moving, there's a little bit of jiggle before she comes to a complete stop...).

  • Excerpt: More of the Beast-men hacking at each other. Bloody Roar 3 is the latest in the series.  It features all of the characters from Bloody Roar 2, but in updated graphics and environments. The game pace is faster than ever.  The beasts seem more powerful.

Bloody Roar 3

  • Excerpt: Console owners have always had a wide selection of beat em up games. This of course increases the requirements of a game and not only demands that the gameplay is superb, but that something new is brought into the genre, some little detail (anyone remember how Capcom exploited Street fighter?). Lets face it; it takes one hell of a game to knock the Tekken series from the throne. So can Bloody Roar 3 do it? Read on and find out.

  • Excerpt: The first thing I noticed about Bloody Roar 3 is how much fun it is to play. I started the game, and immediately I was having a blast. However, after playing it several times over I began to see that it had serious problems.

  • Excerpt: The Bloody Roar series has certainly come a long way hasn't it? If you're going toe-to-toe with games like Tekken 2, Tekken 3, Dead or Alive, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and you're still seeing sequels of the game then you know the developer is doing something right to attract gamers. Bloody Roar was originally released back in 1998 on the Playstation, it was a one of a kind fighting game that featured humans transforming into their animal counterparts.
