Blitz: The League

The Armchair Empire
8 February 2006
  • Conclusion: Luckily for Blitz: The League , basic game play isn't its only selling feature. Midway seemingly came out of nowhere with this year's Story Mode. Basically, Midway has created dozens of fictional characters to populate The League. In story mode, players get to control the off-the-field lives of those characters, and the experience is very compelling.

  • Conclusion: is just about as entertaining as a sports game can get. It harkens back to the days when the original dominated arcades and really, dropping the NFL license was the best thing that could have happened to the franchise. There are some issues with the gameplay and the experience isn't without flaw, but man is it fun. The graphics and audio are great; maybe not "out of this world great", but they certainly add a lot to the game.

Blitz: The League

  • Conclusion: There are a couple of things about the way The League plays that might also irritate longtime football-game players. For one, the artificial intelligence, while generally smart, occasionally loses its mind and forgets that going for an extra point instead of a two-point conversion will keep it behind by, say, four points instead of the three it would be losing by after a two-pointer. The kicking game, in general, seems to be a little all over the place, too.
  • Pros: Heartless, bloodthirsty football with highly satisfying action, Ferocious animations, Single-player mode is damn fun, especially the custom team aspect of it, Highly enjoyable online multiplayer, Lawrence Taylor.
  • Cons: A few artificial intelligence quirks, Using the unleashed mode can sometimes be more of a detriment than a boon, A little more effort could have been put into the story.

Toxic Grind

  • Conclusion: For the most part Toxic Grind is just not a good game. The Gameplay is average and the sound and graphics are well below average, combined to make this game not overly enjoyable. The story does keep you semi interested in the game but it really doesn’t make up for poor Gameplay. This is just a game that nothing seemed to go Blue Shift’s way and therefore I wouldn’t recommend this one.

Blitz: The League

Game-Focus
2 March 2014
  • Pros: - Audacieux concept - Mode Campaign original - Bonne ambiance musicale
  • Cons: - Intelligence artificielle - Graphiques médiocre - Mauvais mode de replay - Chargement du jeu trop long

Blitz: The League
