  • Excerpt: The graphics are simply beautiful. The screenshot does not do the game justice. All the characters Super-Attacks are fun to watch, and the detail to the environment is incredible.

Rarely, outside of adventures staring a certain young elf-boy from Nintendo, has an adventure been both engaging storywise and by the sheer ambiance that...

Beyond Good and Evil

Playstation Illustrated

  • Excerpt: In the future (four hundred years or so), you will have to take on the role of a female photojournalist in order to sift through a thick plot and large storyline. In this future you will be armed with your friends, a stick and a camera (yes, a camera).

  • Excerpt: I think most of the games I decide to buy on a random whim after seeing them advertised have never let me down. I saw the advert for Beyond Good and Evil, and seeing how it's a genre I've never really played before, decided to try my luck out on the game. And I adore the game.
  • Pros: + Pros-Brilliant graphics and game play
  • Cons: - Cons-Some parts of the game were a bit difficult

  • Excerpt: Ubisoft’s Beyond Good and Evil is a breath of fresh air for the dying Action-RPG Genre. In a world of Zelda clones, Beyond Good and Evil really sticks out with it’s stylish appearance, interesting although annoying characters, and unique concept.
  • Pros: + Fresh take on Action RPGs.
  • Cons: - Some annoying characters.

  • Conclusion: THE VERDICT: Absolutely not to be missed. BG&E is as close as your going to get to Zelda on PS2 or Xbox, and the only thing besides Zelda on the Cube. This game really is comparable to Zelda in many respects, it's that good, and if that doesn't say something I don't know what will.

  • Excerpt: Beyond Good and Evil is the latest game from Rayman creator, Michel Ancel. However, the game has little in common with the limbless platform star's games, as Beyond Good and Evil is an Action-Adventure game similar to Zelda.

  • Excerpt: The truth is out there somewhere… Before I start this review, I want to allow you to think back to a time where games weren’t all about running in and shooting as many bad guys as possible and then moving to the next area and repeating this.
  • Pros: Great story & characters, some truly original and well integrated gameplay elements, fantastic soundtrack.
  • Cons: A couple of extra levels would have been nice, but I’m grasping at straws to find anything.
