Barnyard

Playstation Illustrated
5 February 2007
  • Excerpt: Barnyard comes to us from long-time publisher THQ and Australian developer Blue Tongue. In the case of this bovine-infested tale, that name strikes home even more. At first, I wasn’t sure what to think of this title. I vaguely recall it being based on a Nickelodeon movie released several months ago, but that’s where my end stopped. It obviously caters to the younger audience, but it had a few surprises in store for me as well.

Barnyard

Gamecell

  • Conclusion: For all its oddities, Barnyard is never less than charming and fun to play. A gentle learning curve will mean that the target audience I envisage (5-9 year-olds) will have few problems with most of it, and suitably simple and intuitive controls don’t detract from the gameplay, but rather enhance it.
  • Pros: Lots to collect and explore, Loads of mini games, Genuinely amusing at times
  • Cons: No auto save, “Male” cows – snigger, Occasionally unintentionally amusing

The Barnyard

Blokes Only
9 May 2007
  • Summary: To tie in with the release of Barnyard the film comes the game and yet another reason not to have kids! Too much money!! Throughout the years they have wanted to watch Toy Story, Shrek, The Incredibles and Finding Nemo then once they have the DVD they want the game! But it does keep them incredibly quiet for hours on end so it can't be all that bad!
