Good game but a little monotonous

Amazon

  • Summary: I rented this for a couple of weeks as a "test drive" before buying. In the end I decided not to buy a copy for myself but to be honest I might rent Baldur's Gate again to continue the game. I know I won't be deleting my save file anytime soon. Technically it is a notch above average.

  • Summary: I must admit I only recently got this and to be fair it's not that good,it looks great but the paltry three classes are a bit stingy and not starting with a character weapon is naff, the archane archer doesn't start with a bow and knows no spells, the fighter starts with a butter knife and although...

  • Summary: The Baldurs Gate series for the PC is probably some of the best RPG's you can buy. When this game came out for the PS2 I rushed out and bought it. Unfortuately the Playstation 2 game isn't quiet up to scratch. I completed it after 8 hours total play!!!

The Gateway to the repetitive game

  • Summary: When I first played this game I was thrilled with the graphics, great sound, the voices and the water effects! The game was simple enough, hack and slash your enemies, pick up items, weapons, armor etc.

Bit of a let down

  • Summary: Being a serious RPGer I thought this would be a challenge as all RPGs should be. Whilst the plot and gameplay were good the longetivity was terrible, I managed to complete the game in less than a day.

Fun, but no substance

  • Summary: Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance is pretty fun, but short, and it lacks much in the way of a story. Just to mention, it is nothing like it's namesake (The computer series). It is basically just a hack n' slash action RPG. Not the worst of that type of game, but it is far from the best.

  • Summary: I belive the title about sum's it all up.This is a great RPG for PS2 by Forgotten Realms. But only if you got money to blow or a mind to waste. This is a very short game.It consists of only three towns where you buy and sell items/Equipment.Only three pre-made classes;Dwarf-Warrior,Human-Archer,And a...

  • Summary: the graphics are great. the gameplay is nice. the adherence to the new school of +5-rings-are-laying-around-everywhere-D&D is fast and loose and a little annoying. it's also, as others have said, a really good 2 player game. it's way too short though.
