  • Summary: when this game came out i was excited, i've played the baldur's gate-tales of the sword coast saga on the computer and i was expecting the same sort of things here. i was a little disapointed to find that instead of being a more traditional role playing game it took on more the effect of diablo, a...

  • Excerpt: BALDUR'S GATE: DARK ALLIANCE (PS2) After being mugged by bandits in the titular city of Baldur's Gate and licking your wounds at the Elfsong Tavern (the only location Baldur's Gate fans will recognise), you answer the call of a few regulars and decide to investigate some odd goings on in the sewers...

Too easy and too short

  • Summary: This game started off promising. You get to choose from 3 characters to play (but can't design the chars, unlike the PC version, I hear). I enjoyed the first few hours of the game. But it gets so repetitious and boring after that. You basically hack your way through various dungeons.

Why is this in the Roleplaying Category?

  • Summary: Ok, this game is in no way shape or form a Roleplaying Game. Interplay is one of the kewlest game designers out there for innovative games, but this one was defiently sub par. I was intrigued being it said "Baldur's Gate" to be like the PC series, with simply a heavy aim on Dungeon Crawling and...

How dare they call it Baldur's Gate!?!?

eviefreyazac, Amazon

  • Summary: I love BG and BG II on PC. Intricate, clever, and a wonderful adaptation of the "pen and paper" game. Unfortunately, this game seems to be Baldur's Gate in name only. The graphics are quite well drawn but very small.
