I've had higher expectations from this

Amazon

  • Summary: a year or so ago, after playing the first BGate, I thought this was an easy to get used to and addicting game to play. Hack and slash for gold and search weapon racks to collect hardware, open treasure chests for plunder and visit a local merchant via depending on what part of the map you were on to...

An enjoyable game with a few shortcomings

A. Rose, Amazon

  • Summary: I had just finished playing the first Dark Alliance with a friend this past November, so I didn't have too long to wait for this sequel. I thoroughly enjoyed the first game with its brilliant graphics and challenging levels, so DA2 had a lot to live up to.

This game is only for those who were really into the 1st

Amazon
7 October 2004
  • Summary: This game is basically an expansion to the first. The story continues directly after the first. The graphics are basically the same. There are five starting characters rather than three.

Beware

Amazon
30 September 2004
  • Summary: I rated this game as follows: the graphics are great, compared to the 1st one, the story line isn't too bad, but, on a scale of 1-10, the aggravation level leans towards a 7 or 8, due to the boss, Mordoc, is annoyingly impossible to harm.

I don't like it as much as the first.

  • Summary: I really loved the first Baldur's Gate for PS2 so I was really disappointed when I started playing this one. I didn't like the new armor eating enemies. I know they were trying to make some exploration dangerous and more exciting, but un-equipping/re-equipping all of your metal armor was a real...

Bit longer please

Amazon
8 October 2004
  • Summary: Hopefully with BG:DA2 they've improved the few flaws that BG:DA had... namely the playtime, overwhelming numbers of monsters you had to fight, lack of a good storyline and nowhere near enough sidequests... though i did love the pure hack and slash mentality of the first game...

Not what I expected.

R. Wyatt, Amazon
8 October 2004
  • Summary: I think the only reason the Dark Alliance series had the name "Baldur's Gate" was for sales. The original Baldur's Gate series on PC were epic. Almost unbeleivable in how expansive and unique everything was. Dark Alliance is nothing like it.
