was a game that amazed just about everybody that played it. Its release back in 2001 showed that hack and slash games didn?t have to be limited to be fun, and its graphics were ahead of their time. From its debut, Read more
Darkness gathers yet again in the sprawling port city of Baldurs Gate. Bloodthirsty bandits stalk the trade roads and a secret society of heartless assassins dominates the criminal underworld, abducting citizens on moonless nights and dragging them screaming into the darkness. The citys most recent saviours vanished along with the Onyx Tower and so, in heroic tradition, adventurers throughout the Western Heartlands make the journey to Baldurs Gate to meet their great and... Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II is an enjoyable sequel to its popular hack and slash RPG ancestor both in story and gameplay. Escalating the 10-15 hour, 4-chapter, relatively linear gaming experience, five diverse-class and appealing characters are now available for adventuring from the start each with its own set of missions, and a new-fangled item-making workshop lets the player create powerful, exotic items. The game can be played either in single-player or... Read more
If you’re looking for a deep RPG with extensive NPC interaction, tricky puzzles, and a deep storyline, you won’t find it here. Dark Alliance II is focused on serving up plenty of combat in fast-paced real-time battles against the Dungeon & Dragons monsters so many of us are so familiar with. In that regard it is a pretty darn good game and will provide some enjoyable hack and slash entertainment. Read more
This series is developing nicely we now have 5 new characters to choose from and a further two to unlock. The game play remains the same but with a better storyline and a larger game world. Character development has also evolved there are now more special feats and skills per character with an opportunity to upgrade your class later in the game. The game is even better when played with friends. As Black Isles is no more I hope this is not the end of this series as there... Read more
This game really is dedicated to the teenage boy group who loves to kill things for no real reason, the games co-operative gameplay is amazing but the one player mode does get a bit arduous when moving from one room of rats to another. Overall very good for 2 players average for 1 Read more
Anyone looking for a Baldur’s Gate/Champions of Norrath RPG will be pleased and entertained by this sequel. It’s longer than the first, and hard to put down. There are more weaponry choices than in the first, and hot buttons to make weapon and spell changing easier, but overall the magic spells aren’t as good. The character choices offer something for everyone from a hack and slash strength-driven character to the magic-driven and the great-aim ranger. The coolest... Read more
This game is certainly very fun and addictive, don't get me wrong; however, the designers very well could have implemented better graphics as it looks very much the same as the original. Still, this game is awesome and a great experience for probably any video gamer. As with the original, its replay value isn't teriffic, but you'll find yourself playing it over again from time to time. I'd recommend this to anyone who liked the original or just anyone who likes video... Read more
I bought this game for my girlfriend, who was just beginning to get into role playing-type games. This was an EXCELLENT choice. The graphics are pretty good, but what really makes the game is the level of detail and thought put into buying items/selling/exploring the worlds inside. There are several characters to choose from this time around and they are all very unique. There are different playing modes too, in case you're someone like me that likes to play on the... Read more
