  • Summary: The cel-shading technique has been done to death. Sometimes the result is good ("Fur Fighters" for example), but more often than not it does the game no favours and just ends up making it look too childish. However, this is not the case with Auto Modellista. It's refreshing to see such a game.

Bad handling and physics drove me up the wall

TwistaG "Quoth the Raven 'Nevermore", Amazon
7 July 2003
  • Summary: With a look as revolutionary as a futuristic car design, Auto Modellista stretches the imagination to a whole new visual plane. If it weren't for the disappointing controls, Auto Modellista's road to glory would be carved into auto history. The radical look is the sole highlight of Auto Modellista.

A Great Racing game!

"andy13457", Amazon
1 April 2003
  • Summary: This is the best racing game I have played. It was way different from alot of racing games because it is Cel-Shaded. You can beat the game in 2-5 hours,But the Online play Lasts along time. You can get trophies for winning, and tons of upgradable parts.

The Spiritual Successor to Ridge Racer Type 4

David Lundin "InsaneDavid", Amazon
28 March 2003
  • Summary: Okay, I know that was really Ridge Racer V, but Auto Modellista makes a far better case. First off this is NOTHING like Gran Turismo, sure it has GT cars, but the Ridge Racer and Tokyo Xtreme Racer series are closer to what Auto Modellista is.

Cell shaded attack!

"dj_knuckle_id", Amazon
2 February 2004
  • Summary: I am quite a big fan of 3d cell shaded games including jet set radio and gungrave but I had never come across a cell-shaded racer. The back cover was very interesting and the effects that were shown made the game irresistible to get and when I got home the game was better than I expected.

A 'manga' variation of Gran Turismo 3

Evo3 "skylinedave", Amazon
17 August 2003
  • Summary: I was definately captivated by the 'cel shaded' cartoony-style graphics of this game when I read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Auto Modellista is a racing game in a similar vein to Gran Turismo 3.

Boy racers dream

Mr. M. L. Hanford "MH74", Amazon
10 May 2003
  • Summary: This is a game where all dreams come true. Free from hassles such as budget and licences, you can chose what car you like and tune it instantly. But what really did it for me was the styling option, where you can kit up your car with real (as far as I have seen) body kits, so if you have a Honda...
