Summary: I have played this game for years, I just bought another copy cause I had lost my original and got the urge again. Can't go wrong for $1-$2. It can be quite glitchy, but thats part of the fun in my opinion!
Summary: This game is a classic and I highly recommend it. It gives you the chance to have your own expansion team and play against the other major league teams. You don't see this option in games that much anymore.
Summary: Out of ALL the video games I've tried, this still SOMEHOW makes the best. I've tried MVP Baseball 2005, MLB 99, and All-Star Baseball 2002. CONS: O.K. First this game is SOOOOOOOOO unrealistic, it hurts. There are VERY STUPID errors that should never happen. For example: When my fielder locks himself in position to get ready to catch the ball, sometimes you will think "Why doesn't he move his glove up? He better do it soon... OUCH!
Summary: I would be giving this game a 5/5 if it were not for one problem this game is a very well made game it is feature packed and the feilding is flawless. Also they included many more teams such as negro league all stars and the best players of all time on one team. The 1 problem that really drags this game down is the batting system. When the pitcher throws it the icon completely dissapears and you have to guess where it will go.
Summary: if you like baseball games, this is the best one out there. unmatched gameplay, improved graphics etc. they could follow EA sports' franchise mode a little better. certainly room for improvement there. the user interface is tough to learn, and i found myself getting "stuck" on a particular page at times, but once you figure it out the game is pure crack.
Summary: I am a basesball fan and when the 2003 baseball lineup came out, I knew that I was going to buy this game. I enjoyed playing ASB 2003, and I knew that 2004's edition would have improvements. The graphics are nice, and the announcers are as well. The franchise is pretty detailed even allowing you to play a dozen or so spring training games, the only problem is the shotty AI, and some game crashes. Also some calls the umpires make are unreal and don't make much sense.
Summary: I can't believe there are some people who give this game 5 stars. I have played ASB games for years now and 2003 is the best one yet. What did they do with the camera angle? How about the lousy frame rate? How about catching the ball 3 feet from your glove? No, no, no, this game is NOT 5 STARS, do not confuse consumers please! It has cool things like mound visits and pitcher worm ups but the gameplay sucks. Baseball is about pitcher versus batter duel.
Summary: This product is a great price; the PROBLEM is it won't ship until at least Dec. 27 - Jan. 8. You won't find this out until you've gotten all the way to the checkout page. How annoying!!! Below the price it reads: "Usually ships within 24 hours." WRONG!!
Summary: Don't like the batting cursor interface? There's an easy (timing) interface, zone (timing+directional) interface, and a classic interface for batting. Think the computer is too good at fielding? You can make it field for you. Are you also in love with high heat's pitching interface? ASB's options allow the exact same style of pitching with no cursor or strike zone displayed on screen. Just you and the batter. And you can even move one runner at a time.
Summary: I had given up on trying to find a decent baseball game. Since 1993 or so, I would get my hopes up for a new baseball game, only to be disappointed by a lack of realism. That's where ASB 2004 excels. Most baseball games reward free-swinging as it's routinely easy to end up with 23 hits and 14 runs. ASB 2004 focuses on patience and baseball management skills. For example, depending on the count, you'll be thrown different types of pitches.
