Damn.......

George "George", Amazon

  • Summary: It looks like there are NO good baseball games this year. This game is much better in gameplay, and graphics than high heat 2003. It doesnt get boring as quick as high heat. Also, the schedual SEEMS to be from this years, not like high heat. I say you should rent both because they are both fun.....for about 3 days.

Almost a Home Run

  • Summary: Well they almost did it, a game with franshise, expansion, minor league teams, the ability for players to improve over time, GREAT pitching capabilites, and you can charge the mound.. But WHY WHY WHY did Acclaim decide to make the controls different from every other game. Any one who has every played ANY baseball game can pretty much pick up any other game and the controls are very similiar, BUT NOW accliam, and not for the better either.. they just don't make sense.

Good but far from perfect

  • Summary: OK--first of all hitting. The normal batting is insanely difficult, while the easy batting is just way too easy, resulting in easy victories even on the higher difficulty levels (my team is 37-5 right now). The stats are not perfect--the game counts errors if your player muffs a ball even if the runner does not advance a base.

Not bad, but then again not great.

  • Summary: Derek Jeter baseball is a pretty good game. Probably more realistic than Triple Play. Like Triple Play it has it flaws and its good sides too. The good 1) more realistic play 2) Automatic fielding 3)throwback jerseys during exhibition games 4) hall of fame teams 5) smooth graphics Now for the bad 1) Hitting is very very hard even on easy setting 2) you can only be one team per season. All in all a good game just missing at points. Hitting is very hard.

An Adequate Game...

Bill Garrison, Amazon
18 April 2002
  • Summary: I haven't played this game enough to have made a final decision, but I want to comment on a few aspects. I don't have time to play full games often, and if you are like me and busy you can set the game to "manage only" and generate a count. Doing this, a game takes about 30 minutes. The game has tons of features, including a minor leagues and create a player. It bugs me though that the computer automatically subs for tired players and forces you to use that line up.
