Summary: The hitting interface in this game is awful. When the computer throws fastballs up in the corner or anywhere besides the target, then you can't hit it. What I do is wait for a pitch to come down the middle and swing the bat. I wish I could get my money back for this piece of trash.
Summary: This game is pretty cool until it won't let you hit ball. The graphics are good but it is not worth your money and time. Don't buy it. I could never figure out how to steal bases. Controls are confusing.
Summary: Recently I wrote a rather favorable review of this game, but since that time I have taken it back and replaced it with High Heat Baseball 2003, a game whose graphics are not that great but whose gameplay is hands-down the best around.
Summary: i'm a long-time triple play player, they are graphically far and away the best, but pretty shallow, so i was ready for a change. it looked like asb had everything right (franchise with farm systems, challenge points to buy cards to unlock cheats/uniforms/stadiums, throwback uni's), but frustratingly...
Summary: I have been an ASB proponent since the first game on N64. I looked forward to last year, and was mildly disappointed. With a year under the belt on the PS2, I felt like this would be the year it would return to championship form. Sadly this game isn't even up to the level of the previous one.
Summary: I rented this game one time just to check it out to see how it compared to other baseball games. I was very disapointed. The graphics were awesomes. I could tell the difference between A-rod and Ichiro. The game really messed up with the gameplay. It is almost impossible to hit the ball.
Summary: All Star Baseball 2003 is what I would call a mediocre game. I chose to buy it because Newsweek magazine said it was the best. Far from it. For starters, everything you've heard about the hitting is pretty much true. Yes, it is a guessing game.
Summary: While I only give this game 2 stars, the potential is limitless! All the games anymore will let you create a player and play a season, sure...How many have cards, stadiums, players and teams to unlock?!?... Those are some of the goods....Now here's the extreme downfall....The hitting!...
Summary: ASB 2003 is a good game but far from being great. It has too many glitches that even though you don't see them very often, can't be forgotten. Once, i went after a ball that dropped between center field and left field.
Summary: Yes, the word is out -- for the second straight year, 989 Sports has failed to produce an acceptable MLB game for PS2. Release of MLB 2003 has been canceled. So, if you're really adamant about playing a PS2 baseball game this year, what are your options?
