  • Summary: This game is a winner and you will be back night after night. Im a die hard Triple Play fan and this game has as many flaws as TP, however it gets over it with good gameplay. Im not interested so much in graphics as much as reality. As mentioned by others u wont get 70-80hr seasons like TP. I took the Giants thru a season and ended Bonds with 62hrs, with only 1HR in last 10 games.

Best Baseball Game this year but.......

Ryan Hankey, Amazon
3 September 2001
  • Summary: ..... it could have been better. As for all the people who complained about the flaws here i disagree. The fielding aint THAT hard. You'll get the hang of it when you start playing the game a lot. Also i heard some1 complain that u cant choose jerseys during a season. Well you're right, but then again thats what exhebition is for isnt it? I mean this game has real cool but it has some flaws. I think the home run derby is horrible.

The best baseball sim for ps2.. but could be improved

Dan Smith, Amazon
5 August 2001
  • Summary: Aclaim sports, finaly introduced the AllStar baseball series to playstation. They fully succeeded in bringing a quality game to the system whcih is capable of so much. Why only 4 stars? Simply because the great graphics aren't taken advantage of, because there is only one angle to chose from. Now i'm sure you all already knew that, but im just reinforcing the fact that this needs to be changed, because the graphics can't seem to get any better.

All-Star Baseball 2002 a must-have

Mike, Amazon
2 August 2001
  • Summary: Akklaim made a real winner here- baseball games don't get much better than All-Star Baseball 2002; it's the best I've played. The graphics of ASB-2002 are great; both the stadiums and players are very detailed, and between innings you saometimes get surprised by a dancing mascot. Commentary is decent. There are other cool features in the game, such as Hall of Fame teams. The batting and pitching interface is also very good.

Not a Bad Game

Kevin L. Green, Amazon
3 June 2001
  • Summary: I read all of the reviews on all three baseball games, so I decided to give this one a try and Triple Play a try. I bought both of them. I started to play TP and it was alright. Then I started to play ASB. It was a whole lot better than TP. The graphics are awesome. Gameplay is great. And the controls are really easy. It is really a competitive game with the computer. The first time that i played it(on rookie of course), the computer was kicking my butt.

Not perfect, but a very solid game

ATHF Fan, Amazon
24 May 2001
  • Summary: I have always been a big fan of the Acclaim ASB series for the N64 -- I own 2 of the three. Therefore, when I learned that Acclaim was bringing the franchise to the PS2, I was excited. All of the other Acclaim sports were bested by EA offerings, but baseball was one sport the company still had a stronghold of. After first playing ASB 2002, I have to say that I was a little disappointed.

Game needs improvements, but still a great game

Dwayne Jenkins, Amazon

  • Summary: First off, people are dead wrong about some of the complaints. You CAN beat the computer if you are somewhat a gamer and not a complete newbie. Yes, it takes a few games to master the moves and buttons, but after a while I play in allstar mode and still can beat the computer 22 - 1. Second, you CAN create great players. I don't know were people get off saying you can only make average players.

better than Triple Play

IslesStyle "Islestyle", Amazon
7 April 2001
  • Summary: With the baseball season in full swing, I decided to test the baseball market on PS2. I found out that Triple Play bothered me with it's sluggish gameplay so I tried All Star. I found a solid baseball game with a lot of depth. Team mascots, accurate batting stances, and easy to pick up fielding and pitching controls. Even with the difficulty set on rookie, it was a challenge. Even if I am beat, I am in awe of how solid it is.

could be better, but so far its the best baseball game out

"gt2006", Amazon
26 March 2001
  • Summary: for the most part its a pretty cool game, the graphics are awsome. the sound is excellent. pretty easy to figure out. the only big downside of the game is there should be more camera angles and they should have had the same player control that was offered in the n64 version. (i thinks the n64 controls where easier to use). besides for that the game is very fun to play. it feels just like being there.
