Cool Pitching & Batting Interface, But Nothing Else

Keefer "Ryan W. Keefer", Amazon
28 July 2003
  • Summary: I rented All Star Baseball 2002 by Acclaim as everything I've read thus far puts it ahead of the other two baseball sims available on the market, but let's hope the reviews I've read were wrong, because there's not much here that I liked about the game.

Ugh, they were close, and then went backwards

Robert Genchi, Amazon
9 February 2002
  • Summary: I am a baseball enthusiast, and I was so excited when All Star Baseball came out two years ago for the n64, I was one of the first to buy, and loved it. I got into the season about 85 games with my friend, and then the file was corrupted, and was so dissapointed.

The best baseball sim for ps2.. but could be improved

Dan Smith, Amazon
9 February 2002
  • Summary: Aclaim sports, finaly introduced the AllStar baseball series to playstation. They fully succeeded in bringing a quality game to the system whcih is capable of so much. Why only 4 stars? Simply because the great graphics aren't taken advantage of, because there is only one angle to chose from.

Not perfect, but a very solid game

Amazon
9 February 2002
  • Summary: I have always been a big fan of the Acclaim ASB series for the N64 -- I own 2 of the three. Therefore, when I learned that Acclaim was bringing the franchise to the PS2, I was excited.

The Best PS2 game so far

A gamer, Amazon
9 February 2002
  • Summary: I was waiting for a baseball game most of last year and all of this year. I had planned on getting Triple Play, but after reading reviews, I found out that it was very arcade stylish, and that when run, Pedro Martinez had an ERA over 7.00,and that just isn't right.

How great the game is depends on the player...

Kevin Witenko, Amazon
9 February 2002
  • Summary: Ok, about 95% of the time I recommend a player to rent a game before they play it, merely because it's hard to judge whether or not the game would appeal to all users. I'm going to do it again, because this may be the best baseball game to some, while others may simply hate it.

could be better, but so far its the best baseball game out

Amazon Customer, Amazon
9 February 2002
  • Summary: for the most part its a pretty cool game, the graphics are awsome. the sound is excellent. pretty easy to figure out. the only big downside of the game is there should be more camera angles and they should have had the same player control that was offered in the n64 version.

Triple Play VS. All-Star Baseball......All-Star MUCH BETTER!

Kevin, Amazon
9 February 2002
  • Summary: All-Star Baseball flat out is much better than Triple Play for the PS2. I bought both of the games and All-Star Baseball is much more realistic. The games are so close to being as real as the pros, while Triple Play, the games are not very exciting and there is not really any competition.
