Silent Hill: Book of Memories Review

Game Over Online
22 November 2012
  • Excerpt: Historically, handheld versions of popular console games have always suffered from technological limitations. While the console version of a title would be a gorgeous looking game with compelling gameplay, the handheld iteration would always fall short in one or more aspects. In more recent times, the handheld versions of various titles have been created as “side stories” or “spin-offs,” most of the time not even being considered as storyline canon.

Silent Hill: Book of Memories

Thunderbolt Games
3 November 2012
  • Excerpt: Assumptions can be made when it comes to the dungeon crawler Silent Hill: Book of Memories , just based on the series and genre it belongs to, and those assumptions would be wrong. It’s a Silent Hill game, but that doesn’t mean it’s scary. It’s a dungeon crawler, but loot isn’t the main objective. Rather, it borrows elements to craft a unique combination of both ideas, filtered together to create a cohesive whole.

Silent Hill Book of Memories

impulsegamer
1 November 2012
  • Excerpt: The Silent Hill series has gone through peaks and troughs throughout its existence.  It has had  a great deal of difficulty in returning to its former glory, as has much of the survival horror genre in general.  Book of Memories takes the series in a new direction with the game play and moving away from the traditional psychological horror that Silent Hill is known for.

Review: Silent Hill: Book of Memories Tries Something New…And It Mostly Works (PS Vita)

GameZone
27 October 2012
  • Excerpt: For the longest time, Silent Hill always followed a traditional set-up, a third-person adventure with plenty of spooks and chills.  But lately, I can't help but feel things are getting a little burned-out, especially with Silent Hill Downpour, a game that's been hyped up to no end and ended up fizzling out under the weight of its own premise. That's why it's refreshing to see something along the lines of Silent Hill: Book of Memories .

Silent Hill: Book of Memories

  • Conclusion: A much different Silent Hill game than the norm, which will infuriate some but intrigue others, myself included. Series veteran or not, every Vita owner should at least try the demo.

Silent Hill: Book of Memories

Konzolista.cz
30 June 2013

Review: "Silent Hill: Book of Memories" (PSVita)

gamingxp.com
15 January 2013

insidegames.ch
21 December 2012
  • Summary: Mit der Silent-Hill-Serie begründete Konami auf der PlayStation One das Genre des Survival Horror neu.
