This could have been a three star game (PS Vita)
20 April 2013
Summary: As stated in the title - This could have been a three star game. I did have this as a 2 star review but have changed it to a 1 because this game kept crashing, meaning I had to send error reports to Sony. Subsequently, my whole Vita conked out and wouldn't read any games, forcing me to do a complete factory reset which took ages with all the personalisation I had. You may, of course, not experience this issue.
Summary: This game is terrible. Compared with the Assassins creeds available on the ps3 this is a joke. The fight sequences are not varied at all, you just do the same thing over and over. The gameplay is poor as the game lags when your run around and the costumes you have to wear are a complete waste. Gimicy controls make it terrible for completing puzzles and mini games too. It was a good attempt at bringing it to the vita market but nowhere near as in depth as the originals.
Summary: This game has been released too soon as it is filled with bugs and gliches, the most annoying is when Aveline gets stuck in the Animus start up and you have to restart and select new game losing all your previous progress...to avoid this download the content manager to your PC and save everything there. Complaining to ubisoft technical is a waste of time as you get no reply.
Summary: I enjoyed playing this game and have spent a fair bit of time on it. I got to a part where, having killed a rival and looted him, I was instructed to point the rear camera at a bright light. Presumably, this should reveal something but since a bug prevents me from progressing any further, I will never know. There are also bugs reported that cause the save file to become corrupt necessitating a restart from the beginning and ships to get stuck out of harbor.
Summary: Buy if you like to waste money and play extremely watered down console versions. Infact the console version is totally different and much better.I bought this game on release day from my local supermarket and thought it would finally be the saving grace the vita needs (an actual decent game). First the positives: I quickly returned it to get my money back. Now the negatives: Amazon do not provide enough text for me to display my disgust.
