Excerpt: As the first smackdown ever brought out I would have to say this game is a good one to buy and is cheap now its been out a while and smackdown 2 has now been released. The graphics are fairly good and i would say not far from that of smackdown 2. There are not enough wrestlers on the game when compared with other older games although there are some older superstars.
Pros: This is a good classic for people who like wrestling and collect Wrestling games .
Cons: There arent enough superstars and the create a superstar mode isn't to cracky either . There are not enough match types smackdown 2 has alot more .
Excerpt: WWf smackdown Whether you see wrestling as a gladiatorial competition or the sporting equivalent of lame soap opera, theres no denying this most staged of yankee sports makes for great videogames.Like it's main rivals ,wwf smackdown features authentic wrestlers from the eponymous federation ,along with their famous signature moves, taunts and tag team parteners. You can grapple with up to three mates at a time, and theres even a comprehensive create a wrestler mode where you...
Excerpt: This preview was written by me for www.gameaday.co.uk With the unparallel success of Smackdown 1 and 2, THQ decided to release a third game in this very successful series and appropriately and prudently named it "Smackdown 3:Just Bring It". A little difference though, it is on the PlayStation 2, instead of the PS1. Not much has changed in gameplay terms from videos and pictures displayed on numerous sites. The speed is the same, as fast as ever.
Excerpt: At the time when WWF Smackdown was set to be released I was quite excited and looking forward to it. Having loved WWF Attitude, I was rather hoping a superb game was to be released. I bought the game at the recommendation of a few friends and at the recomendations of some writers who had reviewed it in magazine articles. It had been spoken of as a superb game which was extremely entertaining to play. This made me decide to buy the game.
Excerpt: Having played and enjoyed WWF Attitude, I was expecting WWF Smackdown! to be enjoyable and good value for money. Although it has sold a lot, I find it well and truly over-hyped. Thanks to its WWF licence, the game has sold well. The presentation of this game is horrible: after all it is wrestling and it should feel more ‘hardcore’. Instead, we are presented with menu's that feel as though they were designed for an older generation of consoles like the 16-bit SNES.
Excerpt: Having played this game at my cousins I was truly impressed, being a wrestling fan, it was made with simplicity, and sheer attitude. You can choose your own wrestler and even watch their own gifted move. They all have a different entrance, each unique in their own way. The game controls are so easy to master, and don’t take a long time at all to learn.
Excerpt: Im not usually a fan of beat um up's, but in this case Ive made an exception. This game is so addictive, I just cant stop playing! The range of charachters and moves is amazing including The Rock, Stone Cold, Big Boss Man, The Hardy Boyz, Paul Bearer, Undertaker and Kane plus many many more. The fighters moves ring true to life, including the SMackdown moves such as the Rocks "Peoples Elbow" and Shaun Michales "Sweet Chin Music".
Excerpt: Hi, my name's Louise and i have a younger 9 year old brother called Tony, all he ever seems to do is play on the Playstation and his favourite game is Smack Down. I often get dragged up to play on it with him in a Royal Rumble or Tag Team match! I must admit that i think that the show is a badly acted pantomime employing well paid actor(esse)s but i was pleasantly surprised by this game, grantede, it's not a patch on Smack Down 2 which is the work of geniuses but it...
Pros: If you just want to hit something but don't want the conscious of your siblings death on your hands then this is the thing for you !
Cons: The graphics are quite slow to load, especially in Royal Rumble matches
Excerpt: WOT A GAME. This is by far the most accurate wrestling game i have ever seen.Being a mad wrestling fan I know what is good and what is bad about this game. GAMEPLAY People complained that the first game was to fast and needed to be slowed down to a more natural pace. The graphics are fantastic and very very realistic. You get all the proper rivalries and all the proper groups. All the moves are done very well THQ have done this vey well.
Excerpt: This game is pile-driving, chokeslamming brilliance. Without a doubt this is the best wrestling game on the PSX, no the best sports game ever. The graphics are top rate, each wrestler is instantly recognisable, and have their own signature moves. People's Elbow, Pedigree, the lot. There are a large number of wrestlers to choose from, The Rock, Triple H, Big Show, The Undertaker. And also a wide range of matches to play - tag team, royal rumble etc.
