Twisted Metal III

GamePro.com

  • Excerpt: Twisted Metal III avoids a lot of mistakes by putting gameplay over flash and is a worthy chapter in the series. If you're more interested in obliterating your opponents than gazing at graphics, TMIII's your ride.

Twisted Metal III

  • Excerpt: In a word, “wow.” The graphics this time around in Twisted Metal III are very nice. The polygons are tight, as is the physics engine. I was amazed by the control and handling, and would go so far as to say the vehicles are as responsive and act similarly to the physics model in Gran Turismo . The sound is also outstanding. Sure, you have your basic explosion and machine gun sound effects, but you also get a kick-ass soundtrack from Rob Zombie and Pitchshifter.

  • Excerpt: I realise that the Twisted Metal franchise pretty much started the auto-marauder-shooter craze, but this third outing doesn't seem to match the current standards for the genre. Control feels clunky, graphics are fine but often dark and gloomy, tired and uninspired. Gameplay simply screams "been here, done this, got the T-shirt, washing my car with it.
