Third in the Tomb Raider Series
5 November 2011
Excerpt: Tomb Raider 3 is obviously the third game in the series featuring Lara Croft. This game came out in 1998 and the graphics are so much better than the first two. The images of Lara her self are much more rounded and pleasing to the eye and the decorations in the background of the scenes in the game are really good.
Excerpt: Lara has done it again, she's made her way onto the big video-gaming screens once again. But does she live up to her predecessors? OF COURSE SHE DOES, SHE'S LARA!!!! Graphicwise, Tomb Raider III is great. It's better than the previous two because now, the land can be divided into triangles, as opposed to square blocks in the previoius games (hard to explain in words, but basically the game looks more organic). The game is alot more challenging.
Pros: Now have alternative routes, challenging puzzles, you choose route, better guns, graphics, FMVs, AI
Cons: Harder than the other two - annoying if you're new to the series
Excerpt: What’s so good about it? I’ll tell you, nothing, this game is so boring that I could probably use it to go to sleep. The graphics are awful, the story – there is no story. Lara may look good but that’s about it. I was so excited when I first bought it, but as soon as I put it on I realized I had made a really big mistake. It was a complete waste of money I don’t see what other people find so interesting about it.
Excerpt: Being a tomb raider fan, this is my third opinion and i will be writing one for each of the games. I was very excited about this one when it came out since i had recieved a free demo of half of level one and it looked like a good start. I liked the concept of traveling to different areas in the world to complete different sections of the mission.
Excerpt: Well, after receiving a new PSone for Christmas (thanks Mum!)I set about finding the ultimate games to play. The most obvious are the fighting games as they involve tactics, and, well, pressing as many buttons as you can to beat your best mate. However, these games are all well and good for the average player but I wanted a game that i could play on my own or have my friends there are a coach.
Excerpt: For those new guys & girls on the block who have only just entered the Tomb Raider cult franchise then this game is the best of the whole Lara Croft Series. The game is vast with an improved games engine, better rendering of sound & graphics; improved "feel" or atmosphere within the game's settings and a much more controllable & flexible Lara Croft.
Pros: Great for newbies, improved engine, graphics, AI etc
Cons: seen it all before, poor 3rd person perspective, no real NEW challenge
Excerpt: Tomb Raider 3 is superb in every possible way. It has been updated a lot from the previous installments. I have have got Tomb Raider and have played the demo for the sequel and the leap is incredable. First of all Lara is looking better than ever with smoother graphics slicker animation and new move. She gets new outfits depending on missions and if you jump in the fire in her house you even go on fire!
Excerpt: I had completed the Tomb Raider II game and therefore took on the task of Tomb Raider III, I wish I hadn't! I started the game well, enjoying the graphics and new tricks as much as I enjoyed the last game. The only problem being that you had to collect blue diamonds to be able to save the game and I'm afraid to say, that was my downfall! After being used to save as and when I liked, I could not stand not being able to save.
Pros: great affects, action packed and does your head in !
Excerpt: I played and nearly completed Tomb Raider I played and never got near the finish of Tomb Raider 2 This is mainly because I get bored quickly with games that don't hold my interest..and watching my ex-girlfriends brother whip through both the above killed my interest in completing them myself. So, in the recent Boxing Day sales I noticed that Tomb Raider 3 was a tenner and The Last Revelation was £12..so I couldn't help myself!
Pros: Better looking, sounding and running and only cost a tenner !
Excerpt: Nowhere near the class of the first and second. It doesnt flow well enough to be as absorbing as its prequels. This is by far the hardest of the four, there are too many jumps in difficulty between some sections. Although many levels have a real atmosphere, thames wharf and the nevada prison break especially, there are too many duff areas spoilt by the difficulty level.
