Killing Me Stealthily, With His Sword...
26 January 2009
Excerpt: The technical troublings of Tenchu did not go unnoticed to its makers thus it was tweaked so that its release outside of Japan - to be titled, 'Tenchu: Stealth Assassins' - would be worth the wait.
Pros: Stealth kills are satisfying, top soundtrack, much fun to be had with items
Cons: Graphical glitches, camera struggles in combat, AI not well rounded
Excerpt: Tenchu is a game that I would consider as a classic if only for being one of the first stealth games on the playstation. I have to own up now to not actually owning the game, so imagine my pleasure at having a lodger with some games I enjoy playing.
Excerpt: To start with, Tenchu is now an old game probably 98 or 99. But it’s worth a mention due to the enormous amount of fun it is. Tenchu is a Ninja Simulation game where you’re stalking about trying to save the world from nasty people.
Pros: Best Ninja sim ever ! It ` s FUN !
Cons: Its not easy and the controls need to be learnt !
Excerpt: Tenchu: Stealth Assassins is a game relying on stealth to complete your mission GAMEPLAY You play as a ninja assassin who takes part in a variety of missions. As you are a ninja, you have swords, throwing knives and ninja stars at your disposal.
Excerpt: Before I talk about the game, some question for you to ask yourself: 1. Are you patient? 2. Dooyoo like atmospheric games that require a bit of thought rather than just running around killing anything and everything that moves? 3.
Excerpt: The second you pick up the games box and look at it, the more you realise this has potential to be a great game, noticeable when you see the forbidden "18" certificate, and believe me, this is a great game.
Pros: Almost all of the game !
Cons: On rare occassions control is slightly difficult
Excerpt: The Story - Tenchu places you into the shoes of either a 25 year old male ninja - Rikimaru (rigorously trained as a ninja since birth) or a 21 year old female ninja - Ayami (an orphan who has trained to be a ninja since childhood).
Excerpt: Skill, cunning, stealth and wisdom is just a small selection of things you need for this game. First I will teach you how to use this (brain) then I will teach you how to use this (sword) incase you didnt know this is a quote from the historically incorrect but great film braveheart within itself it...
Excerpt: I remember being given a free demo of this game and, before playing it, dismissing it as rubbish. One red hot and ready to explode Playstation later, me and my housemate were looking under the sofa for money to buy the full game.
Excerpt: TENCHU. This is a story that gets you so involved that it almost becomes your life (please note that this is only a second game I had ever played on Playstation and I did have a life prior to that).
Pros: Has everything the modern computer game can ask for
